The Eagles Cap technique?

The Chiefs goal is to win a third consecutive Super Bowl. It might be worth at least looking at how they run their franchise. Why would any team pattern themselves at how the Eagles run their operation? They do seem to be profoundly disappointed in how last season ended. I guess doing something is better than doing next to nothing.
The Chiefs don't Like ALL of their Guy's....don't mind trading a couple.

Sometimes the best move is no move, or in this case not moving to much.
Not one of us fans know how it will turn out. Even though many on here think they know.
Which it works both ways, for good or for bad.
The Cowboys did do something. They let a number of starters leave or simply did not re-sign them. The Cowboys’ starting lineup will have more changes than most teams this season compared to last season.

LOL. Anything to give this FO credit eh?

If the eagles dont lose 6 games in a row. Do the Cowboys win the division?

The answer is no. If you are wondering.
The Eagles play a full season just like the Cowboys and every other team.

The Chiefs went around 50 years without a championship before they won their 2nd one. They hit the lotto at qb and at tight end. That luck could run out at any time.

The Eagles aren't winning.
They went as far as we did in the playoffs.

That's all that matters. You don't get remembered for winning a division. You don't get a big shiny trophy for winning the division. You don't go down in history as a great team for winning a division.

But I guess when you are such a homer and can't stomach failure, you set your standards for great a lot lower. Which is odd considering you think the Cowboys are one of the greatest franchises in the NFL.

'No' is the only answer to that what if. Philadelphia stumbled badly down the stretch, allowing Dallas (who stumbled slightly less down the stretch) to capture the NFC East crown.

Another answer could have been, "No, but that scenario did not happen in real life and Dallas won the division." There is very little reason to deflect from answering the hypothetical since saying no cannot change what actually happened.

If it were luck, why doesn’t luck ever find the Dallas Cowboys? Mahomes does not win even one regular season game all by himself.

I am just saying giving the Cowboys credit like they were world beaters and stole the division from Philly is disengenous.

I would agree if that viewpoint is implied. Both teams were not running neck-and-neck for division title. Both teams were stumbling well-before the finish line. Neither team played like world beaters. Both teams played equally like they did not even want to make it into the playoffs.

Did you watch the Chiefs play? They aren't winning without their qb.

Team trades up into the top half of the first round, just ahead of another very interested team to draft a QB when they already had a #1 overall pick at QB on their roster.

"Hits the lotto."

Weird that they also have a instant Hall of Fame coach that might set some all time wins records. Guess that was another lotto ticket that Dallas couldn't have scratched since they'd never heard of Andy Reid.

McCarthy could be on the way to the Hall of Fame as well. His record is very good.

I listened to the Athletic Football podcast and a guest in there said that they had void years up to 2034 in that A.J. Brown contract or something along those lines.

Thread for cap experts (lol)........many posters/ fans question the Eagles are signing so many players to huge contracts vs Stephen Jones struggling with 2-3. Here is the answer.....I think. I guess the question is this a better way for Stephen Jones to sign players?

Contract Details: Brown, Phillips, Highsmith

May 12th, 2024 at 9:58pm CST by Ely Allen
The Eagles recently made A.J. Brown the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history. We already knew a number of details from that incredible contract, but thanks to Will Laws of Sports Illustrated, we now know of a wild detail with unprecedented consequences.
Laws points out that Brown’s deal includes a void year at the end of the contract that will hold a $53.52MM cap hit. This is actually a common contract technique the Eagles have been employing in recent years that allow them a ton of flexibility financially. Several other players have massive voidable cap hits like Jalen Hurts ($97.55MM), DeVonta Smith ($35.78MM), and others.
This likely doesn’t mean that someday the Eagles will suddenly be committing a triple-digit cap figure to players no longer on their roster. That could only happen if they see every contract through to completion. More likely, Philadelphia will be extremely strategic about how long to hold on to those players, cutting them at times that will allow for ideal cap savings. For instance, starting in 2027, the Eagles will be able to cut Brown and receive more in cap savings than they’ll be losing to dead money.

Here are a few other contract details on recent deals around the NFL:
