I think bringing up Gurley is extremely relevant since he was the 1st running back taken in last years draft...comparing both of these guys highlights there is no doubt in who comes away looking like 1st rounder.

I guarantee the impact is in a whole different ball game with Zeke on the head with Dmac and Alfred morris right behind. On top of that scheme fit was the issue with Dmac and you would count on another year where you replace Randle with a 4th round pick?

When he did get in the open field, he started looking to see who was gaining on him and started looking for contact. Drove me nuts!

This. His vision was not great; he missed opportunities to maximize his elite speed. Zeke appears to have great vision and hits top speed in a hurry.

What I love most about Elliott as a prospect is his run instincts. That is something that I feel like a RB either has or doesn't have. Emmitt had it in spades and so does Elliott, but not many do to their extent. Watch the video I'm posting and at 52 seconds in notice how low Ezekiel gets when he is changing directions. He lowers his mass, plants and cuts to his left and then immediately lowers, plants and cuts back to his right. It is a thing of beauty.

Really, you can see examples of it throughout the whole video. He just has fantastic run instincts and vision. It isn't something that is taught really but rather something that backs who have it just feel.

Add in his super competitive nature along with all of the other intangible and tangible traits he possesses and IMO, it is easy to see why he was valued so highly by NFL teams.

Note: You might want to turn sound off because of the music... but the video is top notch.

The thing about highlights is you usually get to see every time the player did something good and outside of those handful of moments you have a player that disappears. Zeke highlights are in literally every game he touches the ball. He carried Ohio's offense in several games. With the Cowboys offense, he is going to feast.

There is a big difference between "40 speed" and "game speed". A guy can run a 4.3 but if it takes him the first 20 to the necessary speed then he won't be a good back. Zeke seems like he hits full sped within 5-10 yards,which is exactly what you want in a RB

DeMarco didn't have a 50+ run in 2014.

And I think the infamous Joe Randle had several. Murray just seemed to have no burst or extra gear once he got to the 2nd level. There were plenty of opportunities for "home run" type runs. He just could not pull away.

Great Peripheral vision. He sees the defenders coming towards him without direct eye contact.

Murray admitted to gaining 10lbs of water weight the night before every game. Besides his rookie season he never looked to have the breakaway speed. Also, Murray was a long strider which doesn't help with change of direction and slows a RB down.

If you look at the tape, when Elliot gets behind the defense he's rarely caught when Murray does he often got caught. IMO Elliot is much faster.

Common Sense tells me that even if Tony and Dez goes down...Zeke would still out perform the numbers that the RBs put up in dallas last year and especially in TDs.

And Emmitt ran closer to 4.6 than 4.55, yet Emmitt, like Elliott, had a history of long TD runs at Florida and continued with long TD runs in the NFL. Murray was sprung free into the secondary many times in 2014, yet seldom produced a TD. Long TD runs have as much to do with vision and balance as speed.
