Like everything, it's all relative. There are times and coverages where you want it in the Superstar's hands. But every person we line up needs to be capable of catching the balls when their number is called. We want the QB making the most productive plays possible. If that means beating double coverage for a game winner, great. If it means turning to Terrence deep downfield when Dez has the attention of the safety, that's fine with me, too. Just don't drop the balls.
This team has Dez, Tony, Witten, and now, Zeke. There are enough superstars to go around at crunch time. And if our elite players made the elite plays that were there to be made last Sunday, we'd be 1-0 instead of 0-1.
It's a simple question really that people can't seem to answer.
Why is it a team like the Bengals or the Steelers or the Falcons can somehow maximize the targets their elite pass catchers get and yet somehow, in Dallas, Dez is more of a cog in the wheel in the passing offense. If he's a early read and open, great. But we won't go out of our way to try to devise ways to get our elite pass catcher the ball like other teams do.
