It would seem to me a backup punter will probably not be let go until after the last preseason game is played -- to avoid using the Aussie punter then, and if he does play in that game, to make sure a punter is available the following week in case the Aussie gets hurt.

Apparently Stephen Jones praised Tyson Smith, I'd say Tearrius George is more likely there... I'd also say Cory Lekkerkerker goes before Ryan Gibbons, who I have read might get some consideration for the practice squad...

Another player who didn't play in the Texans game but wasn't out due to injury is punter Jay Ottovegio... he'd be a likely early cut, I think...

I haven't seen Tyson Smith do anything, especially against Denver, which what was being discussed.

Marcus Smith, the DE, did show flashes in that game. I believe the poster is mistaken.

Those are all likely gone at some point. Butler can only be released with an injury settlement. Jerry also likes him so he may be safe for awhile although its academic. He seems to be hurt all the time.

Atchinson is also someone who I think may make the PS. I'm wondering if we keep Hannah on the 53, too.
