Does anyone have a clip of the first play from scrimmage vs. the Lions?

It was the biggest play of the game IMO. We could have set the tone defensively but the refs had to make a cheap call...

The call was that Newman hit a defenseless WR.

He did clock the guy pretty good BUT geezlouise, this is football.

The announcers said it was a bad call.

I don't think it would have made a difference though. Just my opinion.

Starting the game 7-0 wouldn't have made a difference?

I think it played a part in the game, the refs started out giving the game to the Lions.

If anything, the defense would have let up and lost to them even worse.....just like we did with the Saints when Julius ran that 80 yarder in on the second play of the game.

The Cowboys simply weren't "up" for this game. Who cares? It was meaningless. Now if we go into Seatle and get raped.....THEN we have serious issues to deal with.

I'm holding my judgement of this team, this coaching staff, and this season until AFTER the season is over.

Nope.

Not the way they played on Sunday.

And if you think I'm the only one who thinks this way, put up a poll and ask the question, "If Roy's TD wasn't called back by the refs, would the Cowboys have won the game?"

:)

They scored on the drive -- resulting in a 10 point swing. I don't think we would have played a whole lot better, but we most likely would have won the game had that not been called back.

Detroit was 2-13. No excuses.
Who is making excuses? Don't be ignorant. A 10 point swing in a game that came down the very last play makes a difference.

Does it really matter at this point?

We're playing Seattle on Saturday, dudes. The playoffs are on the front porch and they aren't gonna go away.

No. But neither does the firing of Jim Mora. Yet it was posted and discussed here.

I do believe it may have made a difference in the game ,but that's water under the bridge.
My problem or question about the call is, The receiver who T.N. hit was going after the ball and even tipped it so how can it be a defenseless receiver? What's he supposed to do wait for him to catch it.

It definitely was a BS call.

I don't think you could convince some people that we would have won if we had led 28-0 after the first quarter.

It was a horrible call because the WR touched the ball. It's not like Newman hit a guy who had not shot at the ball...

I think we would have won had that BS call never happened. That was a huge swing in momentum.

You're making excuses. How ignorant are you to not realize it?

I feel it was a BS call because Newman hit him with his shoulder and did not lead with his helmet. If they called this the way it was called on us you would get a penalty everytime you hit a wr when he was in the air before or after the ball arrives???????? The officals are inconsistent in every aspect.
