Romo would be the first coach in history to show up on the injury report every week.
He probably wouldn’t take a pay cut
His new contract will likely be 8 mil or so
Jerry could pay that easily
But the hours with young kids is certainly the big factor
I don’t think tony is ready just yet
I think maybe 4-5 yrs he could be
But only tony knows what’s in his heart so we shall see
Best PASSER in Cowboy history Trophy Wife and Family , Best football analyst on TV and doing the Super Bowl . MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!
No need to start a different career and have no control of the outcome because of Jerrys Dysfunction. Guarantee Tony learned from his first career with Jerry and dose not need to revisit
Romo was already calling the plays. All he needs is a decent DC and there ya go.
Yeah but Romo wasn't a back up.
Eh, he was closer to 30 than 20. So don't act like it was forever ago, he was a child who grew up since then. He was a fully formed grown-up who, despite this supposed raging fire of competition burning inside of him, thought it was a totally good option to take a vacation in the middle of the playoff run.
He had no concept of why he shouldn't. Or why that wasn't a helpful example to set for his team. He just didn't get it. (And while you can pretend to know for a fact that his vacation didn't hurt his performance or our chances, the fact remains he personally played poorly that week.)
But whatever. That mindset is fine enough when you're a star player or a star broadcaster in a cushy job. But coaching is more of a grind. Is he up for that grind? He's shown nothing to suggest he's cut out for that grind.
Romo is staying put in the booth. He wants to spend time with his wife and kids, words from his own mouth.
Because he loves this team and he loves Jerry Jones?
He had a kid since he left the team. Guess what his name is?
He loves this team and would love to get a trophy for Jerry.
Garrett replaced by the guy whose career he wasted. Fitting.
Unfortunately they screwed him in 2016 but he probably still loves this team.
Garrett didn't throw all those untimely INTs in all those late Decembers.
Jones Romo will graduate high school in 2035.
That's all you need to know about when Tony will be ready for his coaching career.
How easy we forget, too, the fragile bones, back, etc. he dealt with almost in alternate years. And, as a byproduct, we, too, dealt with his fragile (that's an I talian name) body.
Add the INTs in crucial games, the December fades and his failure in the playoffs, the idol worship is odd. Creepy even, old boys.
OMG- It is more likely to snow in downtown Dallas on the 4th of July than Tony Romo being HC in 2020.
His golf game would suffer. Ain't happening.
Nah, jimmy johnson is coming back and he is bringing tony romo as the QB
No, but he did have all the receivers just run down field.
100 mil got Gruden out of the booth. Do it, Jerry.
