The fork in the road

I'm very sorry that you feel this way.

Honestly, I hope we move on from Garrett and we hire the Hoodie.

Barring that, I think fans here are going to be disappointed about a year or two from now.

They won’t fire the Hoodie. I think he will move on when Brady hangs it up.

I dont think Belichick has any desire to either start over or tarnish the legacy he's built by going to a new team. If he steps down from coaching or moves on, it would be for retirement or a front office role.

There's very little actually known about Belicheck's contract in New England. Purposefully so. Nobody knows the details. But it's rumored that he could leave if he chose to do so, and therefore, some think that he might. Nothing more to it than that.
The word is it is a year to year deal. There was a huge rift over the Garroppolo deal. Huge. Cannot be understated.

It's debatable whether Belichick is an upgrade over Garrett.

Yeah especially since Belechik has done what everyone said was not possible in the salary cap ers: create a dynasty. I don't like Pats or Belechik but there's not really a good argument against him being the greatest coach of all time. The great HOF coaches never had to contend with the salary cap limitations. There couldn't be a better hire than Belechik and it's not even close.

If Jerry fires Garrett and hires a retread or a puppet I think you guys will be calling for Garrett back sooner rather than later.
I can't imagine any circumstance that anyone would be calling for Garrett to return to the Cowboys.

Jimmy Johnson is the type of former HC that fans want back not Garrett.

Can someone explain to me why the New England Patriots would fire the greatest head coach in NFL history?

Where is this scenario coming from and how in the world does it make any sense?
I’m still pondering if pigs can fly and what the odds are that it snows on July 4th in downtown Dallas. Those odds are better than Bill Belechick agreeing to join PT Jones-Barnum’s circus.

That's like staying in a bad relationship because "I may not find someone else". Can't live life that way and I don't follow my team that way.
If Garrett goes I will NEVER regret it. Never wanted him here and was right about that and suffered for 10 years. I'll gladly step into the unknown

How can we be more disappointed then we have been in the last 10 years??

if they keep Jason garrett as head coach I am done as a cowboys fan ihave been one since the late 60's but if that clown comes back their is no hope so I will find another team to root for

It's beyond ridiculous. He's not coming here and he's not going ANYWHERE.

Next time you have a shred of confidence in Jerry Jones getting this hire - or anything football related - right, go watch (or listen) the video of him laughing about hiring Parcells to get the stadium.

A serious coach who wants to be part of a winning organization isn't going to come here. We'll only get the guy who others won't hire, or someone looking to cash in at the end of their career. Or maybe an up and comer. No one with options is going to take a job working for our resident egomaniac. We'll never win anything again as long as he's walking God's earth and breathing his air.

Calling for Garrett back? lol he sucked, could never manage a clock and his team is soft. Zero confidence in any big situation, let’s stick with that for the sake of being afraid to make a real change. I don’t care if it’s a retread, if the coach has an actual resume he’ll be better than Garrett.

Could be, no one knows but Bill, but let me tell you why I think there is a chance.

I think he wants to win without Brady, leave no doubt that he is the greatest ever.

I think he may be upset with NE ownership when they overruled him with Jimmy G. He sees what the young QB is doing in SF and sees that TB is 42 and fading fast.

I think he wants to win at the place that his old mentor and rival could not.

I dont think he wants to take the time to rebuild a team, like he would have to in NY or Washington.

I think this is the one guy that Jerry would surrender some power for.

I'm not saying I would bet my house on it, but I dont think it's as farfetched as some think.

No more disappointed than they have been for the last ten years now.

And 10 > 2.
