The Funk is Clearing

I hear ya, man, but that just makes me really nervous. If a first round-caliber player is not available where we pick I'd say trade down and acquire more capitol. But maybe I'm overestimating our ability to draft well.

Definitely need to spend in FA though.
We don’t have a second or third round pick, so I can be talked into some trade down scenarios.

Just remind yourself that the second round pick is Quinnen Williams and the third rounder is George Pickens, and it will make you feel a whole lot better about our first rounders lol

right this is where an "All in" GM restructures those contracts needed and goes and hedges his bets in FA

Since the GB playoff debacle, this franchise has been in a funk.

The 2024 season was a lost cause. An awful offseason followed by an even worse regular season.

The FO then hired familiar friends to coach the team. No one saw Schotty as a good hire at the time.

Then JJ bungled the Parsons signing, and Micah pouted and napped his way off the roster in response. His BFF Diggs has been a problem child in the locker room to boot.

The first half of 2025 was abysmal. An inconsistent offense dogged by one of the worst performing defenses in the history of the NFL.

But then “The Trade” happened. Quinnen shored up a massive hole up front, and the guys returning from injury have stepped up and made the D respectable again.

Dak and Schotty have rallied the team around playing for 94 and for each other in the wake of unimaginable heartache and tragedy.

The offense explodes under Pickens and Dak’s play and the team reels off 3 straight wins while the wheels on the bus in Philly look like they might just fall off

This is the first time since the GB debacle where this is once again a glimmer of hope for this team. The light is shining at the end of a dark tunnel.

Regardless of whether they win the division, they are set up for a window to contend. Here are some things they should do to maximize their chances in 2026-2027:

1. Extend Quinnen and lower his cap hit the next two years. Build the D around him

2. Resign Clark and give him a solid deal to stay.

3. Resign Pickens. Do it. We need him and he changes this offense.

4. Hit on both first rounders — or package them together and move up to nab a game changer on D

5. Resign Javonte and bring in another RB or 2 to round out the stable

6. Restructure Dak, Lamb, whoever else needs to free up cap space and go sign the best MLB and S you can find in FA

7. Cut Diggs and Steele to save cap space and use the savings to get better at RT and CB
Id be thrilled if they went this route.

Its really obvious and needs to be done.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to see it to believe.

***extend Aubrey.

I would trade our 1st pick for more draft picks. Maybe 2nd and 4th for this year. This is a deep defensive draft. So it might be worth investing into more defense for 2026.

I mean. The franchise was in a funk last season because the FO didn’t even try to field a competitive team. Did not even try.

But finally Jerry woke up from his nap and decided to make some moves.

Exactly. It’s time to go all in. Clark is signed but an extension it restructure could clear some cap. Move on from Steele and Diggs. Keep the stars together, draft well and give yourself a real shot at a SB for a few years. If it mean a year in the desert after, then so be it

Sounds solid to me.

We’ll know if the funk is gone if Jerry decides to not play with contracts and drag it out for clicks and views

I honestly think when Parsons pretty much called the FO out for not wanting to win and left it woke him up a bit.. wish Romo or Dak would have done this way sooner.. jerry's ego is the only thing that can change his mind.

Good plan. Ordinarily, I’d say draft a RB instead of resigning Williams, but not having 2nd and 3rd round picks complicates that. They’d either have to use one of the 1sts or wait until the 4th. There are bigger needs for those 1sts that would cost way more $ to fill than resigning Williams. And you’re not likely to get a commensurate RB in the 4th.

I would love to see Javonte back. He does the dirty jobs and goes about his business the right way.

Can we find a good complimentary RB2 that can take some weight off his shoulders?

Malik has shown some fire this season. Blue appears to not be ready for the NFL. They just signed Abanikanda to the roster— so we will see if he has any potential.

Bottom line is that we need more at that position.
