Seems odd to pay a quarterback like Prescott yet giveaway one of the best defenders in the league over the past few years.
I really don't see Parsons being traded. You get the feeling with JJ that he wouldn't want to see any of his big name players have success at other teams which explains why he pretty much always ends up paying them. Wasn't there that issue with Romo as well in that it was made more difficult for him to leave than it needed to be which made his decision to immediately move into commentary a no brainer? I may have got that wrong but that was my recollection.
Trading Parsons for a slew of draft picks or for a couple of good picks and some good players does seem like a no-brainer, if you're talking about rebuilding the team.
But there's another reason I would trade Parsons, and that's because the way he plays he'll be good maybe 2 more years, and after that will be another Zeke, beat up and worn out. But keeping him for a long-term contract would bind Dallas to yet another aged, non-effective veteran like Zeke.
But Jerry is so unwilling to let the team get really down (on purpose) that he'll keep Micah so as to have a star player that gets sacks and tackles for loss and keeps the team capable of winning 10-12 games a year. Meaning there's no future in Dallas, even with Parsons, the rest of the team is not SB-caliber.
We're doomed to no SBs and average to above average win totals for the foreseeable future...
