Eventually, yes. When he didn’t get (or maybe want) the few jobs he interviewed for, and Jerry gave him a nice raise, he realized how good he’s got it right now.

Short of being a head coach, he gets anything and everything he asks for. He’s got it good and he knows it. The grass isn’t always greener.
No, it isn't but few coaches that had one shot at HC and didn't do what they wanted, even though he got to the Big Dance, are willing to take that. Fox, Phillips, Turner and many others have proven that.

The interesting part of this to me is if he takes the Cowboys job knowing what he knows about the Joneses. Any HC has to overcome them to get the team to follow them.

There is a post in another thread with a quote from Schramm about the chain of command and delineation of power that the Joneses just don't get. Booger never will get it.

Playoff success used to be the measurement.

My expectations are higher with a proven championship HC assuming winning 1 in about 12 years is good with arguably one of the greatest QB of this era.

Unfortunately this era no HC has been able to overcome our toxic culture under this dysfunctional ownership.

And there it is once again, your blind hatred of the Joneses clouds your judgement about everything else.

Making you desperate enough to excuse an embarrassing failure like Garrett and then trying to rush to snap judgement of a proven winner head coach after just two years.

Not sure about this ......just me, I see one of two things happen with Quinn after this season. He leaves for HC job or stays and replaces MM as our next head coach. Actually, the writing is on the wall for MM......think about it, why would Jerry and Quinn ink a multi-year deal for him as a DC knowing very well he could leave any time for an HC with another team. I honestly think this is it for Mike. He needs a min deep postseason run or he's out and Quinn's in.

Dan Quinn is staying put. On Friday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told 105.3 The Fan that he’s signed his defensive coordinator to an extension that will keep him in place “for years to come,”
Quinn is staying put because Jerry is making the hand shake between DQ and WM very friendly and acknowledgeable.
DQ is like a kid in a candy shop.
KM is staying put because he has no where else to go, but he has been given draft priority acquisitions, but doubt his say had any real weight during draft, maybe just a bone thrown his direction during FA with Washington, but thats about it and about how it should be.

I expect this to be a common topic during the season when the defense is playing really well and the offense is sputtering and/or inconsistent.

Personally I think Quinn is Jerry's long term backup plan if he can't land Payton, and I'd wager he all but told him as much.

Listen to his surprising (even for him) quotes after Quinn was retained a few months ago.

Thing with Quinn and who he actually is (likely a great DC but a meh HC), you only get two shots at HC. He needs to he smart about his choices, and I think he is playing it right. So is Jerry in fact. Can't believe I said that lol.

The 2022 Dallas Cowboys offense might suck this year, but the defense is shaping up very nice. Far less rebuilding that needs to be done on the defensive side. And no way Quinn leaves now at this point. It's way more likely that McFatty and Moore are gone after this season. Can you live with that? I could. Easy! And I say that as a big Kellen Moore fan.

Quinn is the club house leader to replace Mike, but don't be so sure this will happen. Although great last year, the expectations are much higher now. That 4.5 yards per rush allowed during the second half of the season needs to come down

Fact: McCarthy and Quinn have both been head coaches in the NFL.
Fact: Both had top NFL quarterbacks.
Fact: McCarthy's team won a SB.
Fact: Quinn's team lost a SB.

Of course, there's more to it than that, but facts are facts that you have to factor in...

Just me but I think Parsons is the key here. Jerry sees this kid has the potential to be the best defensive player in the league in Quinn's system. Also notice the number of players ( current and former ) who have talked about Quinn's leadership and how they love playing for him. When was the last time you read/heard a player say that about MM.

Bottom line is that ever since McFatty became the HC, the offense has gotten worse, not better. And no amount of Canadian thinking is going to change that.
Not true
that's clearly inaccurate, we were a top 3 offense to start last year through the first half of the season and dak before his injury in 2020 the offense was ridiculous. So your trying to be cute and original call the guy fat, its not true at all..its the same OC, same offense, mostly the same players on offense and injuries set the offense back mostly along the OL having to be shuffled a lot.. down eh stretch last year Zeke and pollard were hurt , AC out 2 games, Gallup injured twice the OL was being shuffled etc..

You don’t need blind hatred of Jethro to see how he’s the constant throughout this era regardless who our HC has been . And it’s his leadership , meddling and toxic culture which has created this dysfunctional situation which appears so difficult to overcome.

Garrett’s frustrations and disappointments has arguably not been any greater than more proven and experience HC’s before him and thus far after him this era. So despite whatever his coaching abilities his record in this dysfunctional organization stands up to these other HC’s.

Without the turnovers , Quinn’s defense was average at best. Quinn was no hot commodity in Atlanta, so he might jump at the chance to be the HC of a decent team. Quinn may be a decent DC, but he wasn’t that great as a HC.
I think you are being nice by saying they were average.

Anyone that's a fan of the 25th ranked offensive coordinator Kellen Moore obviously isn't aware of his poor play calling whose been exposed several times last season because of it.

Any HC that went through a pandemic which cause havoc in the sports world with no practices/scrimmages, limited players & still pulled off 6 wins in his first season, made a statement. The 2nd season MM doubled the wins. And calling another human being names, "McFatty", tells me exactly what type/kind of individual you are. It goes without saying that you'll have health issues as well when getting older. No one escapes it!
Up until T-day or so... Moore was the toast of the league and the rueage on this forum over the probability of losing him was thunderous.

I doubt Moore just forgot how to call plays.

MiniMoore will be the next head coach when McCarbonara's contract is up. Which will likely be yet another mistake, but we'll see.

I'm totally with ya all the way up until Moore is selectively retained on Quinn's staff as OC.

Then, all bets are off. Lol

You don't know yet what the Cowboy's offense will be in 2022 so why perpetuate the negative narrative that they might suck? You obviously hate Mike McCarty and Kellen Moore so you think you have carte Blanche to trash the offense? What a poor attitude for a so-called Cowboys fan to have. You are also a liar by calling yourself a Kellen Moore fan. With fans like you, Kellen doesn't need enemies.
