Don't matter. Will never trust the Dak + McCarthy combo in December and January when the light shines brightest. This is not going to magically be fixed with this roster this season.
Who will be the number 1 team in the NFC?

good question, it's looking like the team that can get healthy and remain healthy through December. there's no dominant team.

...but don't let that give us Cowboys fans ANY hope for a playoff run, not with McCarthy. never trust his game prep and management acumen, he just don't got it. he won't have this team ready to play, no matter the opponent or where the game is played.

So, you are saying it won't be the 49ers because McCaffrey looks like he is toast.

yep, may not be them this year...with a seemingly mediocre defense, and their RB gem out for a long while. now let's see if Purdy can carry this team.

It should be difficult for any NFL quarterback to NOT be surgical when practically all successful completed passing attempts are 15 yards or less. Associate the same graphic to a high school quarterback's great game. How would it be described if 'surgical' was not applicable? 'Magical?'
On the other hand with short routes the receivers have less time to get separation, so in that respect surgical accuracy is more difficult and more important on that kind of route.

What if they beat the Steelers?
We have a shot, since they don't have much of a QB. This team reminds me a little of the 2011-2013 Cowboys. But with a better defense and a worse offense. Did you think those teams were good? They still won 8 games.

With bad throws and constant penalties this quarterback can't handle 10 yards consistently. Both top defensive sack and pressure players are lost in space now. Beam me up, Scottie. No intelligent life forms on this planet.

CowboysZone LOYAL Fan
Our offense looked like crap this week. I'm also not a big dak fan in case people didn't know. But he was extra accurate in this game. Almost surgical. He was putting the ball in their pockets. I rip him 90% of the time. But I have to give credit where it is due.
How less accurate can you be throwing curl routes all game

-The Good
* My prediction, had the Cowboys winning an ugly game 20-17 and that's what it was
* Brandon Aubrey, nope don't care if he missed his last one he's still awesome
* Holy cow the Cowboys' defense line played way more disciplined and their gap control was much improved only allowing 1.1 yards a carry
* CD Lamb played way better than last week but son enough with all the taunting
* What was that guy's name that picked off that pass at the end of the game nice pick kid
* And yes all those back up stepped up last night when they needed to well done
* Dak and the Cowboys continue their dominance over the Giants yet again, 13 and counting
* Welcome to the league Mazi Smith, he played his best game as a Cowboy
* That Luepke is sneaky and is getting better each game and he's becoming more involved each week
* Jake Ferguson is one of the best TE in the league, no surprise there
-The Bad
* Amazon Prime you suck, could you lock up anymore I had to go to the computer to watch the game
* Man the Cowboys were dropping like flies and I hope everyone is ok because the Cowboys' best players went out with injuries last night
* Did Aubrey really miss one
-The Ugly
* I've come to the conclusion that the Dallas Cowboys are addicted to penalties and they won't beat good teams with all those flags
* I will say this at least two of those holding calls on Guyton weren't penalties and yes NFL refs are still awful
* 20 points might get it done against the sorry Giants but you need more points to beat the better teams in the league
-Next week
* The Cowboys are on the road against a pretty good Steelers team and it will be a much tougher test than the Giants and the extra rest will help because the Cowboys are kinda banged up right now.
Nice write up. But it was all ugly.
My eyes were bleeding after watching that terrible excuse for an NFL Game.
That facemask on the wrong team was one of the worse calls I have seen in 49 years of being a fan.
The NFL is in big trouble.
There product is getting border line unwatchable.
If I was not a boys fan, I would have turned that game off in the second quarter.

If we win between 10 and 12 games we are good. We will see how it plays out.

As a team the Cowboys are rushing the ball with a success rate (SR) of just 37 percent this season. That means on 63 percent of rushing attempts the Cowboys were in better shape before the play than they were after the play.

This has to change and that all is on the head coach.

Early downs especially should shift away from the running game since far too often they lead to obvious passing situations on third down. These third-down passing situations typically call for Dak Prescott to spend more time in the pocket since the ball needs to get beyond the sticks. That means more pressure on Terence Steele and Tyler Guyton to maintain blocks on the edge which is not something anyone wants.

San Francisco has gone away from a stronger west coast offense with strong running compliment.

Dallas head coach is taking this towards a stronger west coast because it needs to be more productive on first and second downs to keep it all from being a long 3rd down attempt.
