If w can't muster up a pass rush we're in huge trouble. The Giants clearly neutralized out defensive line all game long tonight. Eli could have kicked back in a lazboy in that pocket.

No pressure = cornerbacks and safeties dancing in circles all night long...

This team has fully absorbed the personality of Wade Phillips and that's not a good thing at all. They're passive and the attention to detail just is not there. Simple tackling is absent from the repertoire of a number of our defenders... Do they practice this? Wow... just wow... I'm so sick right now.

It is no secret that I have never been a fan of Wade. Sure, Parcells could not win with this group and now Wade is following suit. I see that argument. However, Wade has no personality whatsoever and sometimes as a football player, you need something from the coaching department to rally around... Someone that will get in your face on occasion. Someone that will present a pulse... The day that we move one will be yet another wonderful day in Cowboys history. (IMO)

The Bucs game was just a game. It was no reason for huge excitement. Tonight's game was the real measuring stick of where this team sits at this time. We should have beat that Giants team handily. Instead, we continue to shoot ourselves in the collective feet and play a passive defense. Smells like last year to me...

Did anyone else think of this game sorta opposite? as in i thought the giants were going to run all over us and we were going to pass all over them

game 2

the over reactions to game 2 when we were still in it with a minute left in the game seem quite off to me.

the only reason it was a bigger game than the bucs is because the fans think it was, it was the second game of a 16 game season.

It really didn't mean anything but a loss.

The defense was on the field too much and that was the offenses fault. It's silly not to expect the defense to screw up some as much as they were on the field tonight.

Just want to say before anyone brings the 4-3 up....

Its not going to matter if we play a 3-4 or a 4-3.... Spencer, Spears, Igor, et al aren't suddenly going to become better pass rushers in a new scheme.

I don't really get where all the blame for the tackling being placed on Wade comes from. Camp Cupcake...yeah I know. Please go put some tape on of Dallas under Parcells, they couldn't tackle then either. Some of the same players, not tackling then, not tackling now....

I do agree with the other things you're saying, but the tackling...no.

Glad you got rid of your Ocan sig. That ***** needs to learn how to tackle.

Oh. The OScan sig will come back. The clowns sig is more important to me right now. I will agree that it was a collective FAIL on the part of the defense (& there is plenty of blame to be shared incl. Scandrick).

It was an NFC East game. Losing it could end up costing us a spot in the playoffs or the division, if we don't implode before December.

pass rush is probably my biggest concern coming out of this game....

this is 2 straight weeks against statues that we didn't get a single sack.

we only got maybe 3 legitimate pressures tonight also.

is it possible that teams have just figured out our entire rushing scheme?

Maybe we miss ellis and canty more then we thought.. Our defense....WOW...Not even going to waste my time.

It was a division loss - big in my book. Second game no sacks, no turnovers and the only part of game worth talking about are the runningbacks and Oline play. I'd rather beat the division opponents and keep the math in your favor, this game was winnable at home but Tony squandered the opportunity. It's not a simple matter of being the second game. Considering the lousy Decembers better to win the early division games - December 6 in NY is the next game vs the Giants.

This entire coaching staff was put together by Jerry Jones and it's flawed IMO. I don't think their's any cohesiveness there, based on last year.

We do need a GM to come in and tear down this coaching staff, and build a true powerhouse unit.

This defense has been glued together for years, let 1 guy come in and totally rebuild this staff, and put the players in that fit the scheme.

I hope you're kidding... We are now squarely behind the 8 ball in the NFC East. The Giants showed tonight that they still have it and will be a force to reckon with all year long.

Unlike with the turnover situation I'm not really overly worried about the pass rush. We've started off slow there, with no doubt, but I do believe we'll get that under control and will start getting sacks in bunches. I'm much more worried about our inability to friggen cause turnovers. We suck at that.

it just as well could mean absolutely nothing, and really at this point in the season, the rational way to look at things is that it is just a loss.

Ware is getting doubled and Spencer cannot take advantage of the one on one's. Jerry needs to make a trade, Cowboys cannot wait on Spencer if they want a passrush THIS season.

Scandrick & Newman are young and will make their share of mistakes, Newman does not get that kind of pass. And Hamlin needs to be dropped off somewhere far away, don't want that guy finding his way back.
