The greatness of "ignore"

Ignore is a useful function on any message board/social media platform. The thing that I find funny is people announce who exactly they have on ignore or why. Just put them on ignore and go on about your business. Not specifically directed to anyone in this thread as no one called anyone out personally.

I don't even know if it exists anymore to tell you the truth. I used to have the link but it was an invite board only I think. Or at least it used to be. Who knows....there is a Sixshooter here but I don't think he has posted in a long time. Not sure if it is the FWST Sixshooter though.

Yep.. traffic a must even if much of it is silly or waste.

Blogginthe boys much more informative site with real writers and good stories but very few post and comments to keep interest going in a forum setting.

I enjoy looking over stories but seldom respond. It’s like looking over the newspaper.

One of the very best features of this great site is the ability to put posters on "ignore" and get rid of the white noise.

It's not something you need often, but it really parses down the site to what's interesting, relevant and conversational, while getting rid of the simpletons and riff-raff from your feed. It sharpens your experience here and eliminates the time waste of going back and forth with the clueless and meandering know-nothings.

I highly recommend it. I've got about 12 on ignore, some of them from forever ago that I'm not even sure are still here. I use it sparingly.

I don't recommend using it just because of a spirited debate that gets testy or even personal, then cools off later and gets back to meaningful football discussion. It's just the internet, and who cares about that stuff. We all get a little overly passionate at times about the Cowboys.

I'm referring to those useless fence-posts who never add anything to any conversation, and don't have the football acumen to be worth your time or thought process. You know the kind.

If you haven't already, tailor the site the way you want it before the season starts. Makes for a much better season all the way around.
Personally, I have never blocked a poster. I am not intimidated by anyones’s posts to the point that I can’t have fun debating them.

How will the individual know if they have been ignored? Hello? Can anyone hear me?

Some have no interest or capability to debate.

Not about intimidation at all. Its about eliminating those that just clutter the thread with no substance.
My sincere apologies because when I do that it's because the whole debate has become so idiotic it hurts to follow so I usually post random stuff to only hopefully lighten up the thing.

I love the ignore option as well. Especially for the so called forum cops who think their job is to correct posters posts constantly.

Or just a plain swine who thinks it's funny commenting on female posters by saying she must have PMS. Better yet, thinks their cool by saying they go to Hooters etc....

And the drunks who bully posters and call them out in public. WOW. The immaturity and lack of respect for others is mind boggling.

I like the ones who have no inclination whatsoever they're on ignore.
