I would say at times its almost the polar opposite of that.
Entire threads of the same children over and over calling each other names and having tantrums, when maybe it would make the experience a bit better to filter out that nonsense.
That's not being a 5 year old, that's being a grown-up
I gotta' agree& leave it at that JC,,, lest you decapitate me& hand me my head thru yer' Superior interactive cyber skill set
*yer' on my not utilized buttoned ignore ,,,er,,,ignore list now buddy-boy*

I believe some get an artificial sense of value and self-worth from being long-time contributors to a message board that literally gets no recognition outside this little echo chamber. This thread being a prime example. OP actually believes that players on the team read his thoughts here, which paints a picture of their insatiable ego. If you're looking for validation from strangers here, you're pretty pathetic in my book. I could give a crud who likes or ignores my posts.

Then why are you responding? When you "really" don't give a crud, you don't take time out of your day to post this.

I know you're just needy and crave attention. So I gave you a like. Your like to post ratio says it all.
Now off you go.

Far and away the most accurate and knowledgeable poster I have seen on here. Too bad he is gone.

He (Six) went over to some private board I think with XNAVY and those guys. They wanted to escape Prophet/Bowman. Not sure I've ever seen him post here. The good ol FWST posters...

I don't even know if it exists anymore to tell you the truth. I used to have the link but it was an invite board only I think. Or at least it used to be. Who knows....there is a Sixshooter here but I don't think he has posted in a long time. Not sure if it is the FWST Sixshooter though.

One of the very best features of this great site is the ability to put posters on "ignore" and get rid of the white noise.

It's not something you need often, but it really parses down the site to what's interesting, relevant and conversational, while getting rid of the simpletons and riff-raff from your feed. It sharpens your experience here and eliminates the time waste of going back and forth with the clueless and meandering know-nothings.

I highly recommend it. I've got about 12 on ignore, some of them from forever ago that I'm not even sure are still here. I use it sparingly.

I don't recommend using it just because of a spirited debate that gets testy or even personal, then cools off later and gets back to meaningful football discussion. It's just the internet, and who cares about that stuff. We all get a little overly passionate at times about the Cowboys.

I'm referring to those useless fence-posts who never add anything to any conversation, and don't have the football acumen to be worth your time or thought process. You know the kind.

If you haven't already, tailor the site the way you want it before the season starts. Makes for a much better season all the way around.
If you piss me off, I will talk bad about you every chance I get every day until I decide to do otherwise which could be a very long time. Just because you ignore me doesn't mean I won't put you on blast for everyone else to see. It doesn't really affect me if you put me on "ignore". It's not about getting my message to you, it's about putting my message out to the masses.

You just got done saying likes are meaningless. Woohoo! Nihilism is just so edgy!

It still exists.

Invite only as far as I know.

Sixshooter still posts but I haven't posted there in at least a year so not up to date on the latest happenings there.

I haven't got anyone on ignore. I did, however, have a few (besides bots) on the old forum. It was nice, but I very rarely used it. Usually, someone would have to say something horrendous to me.

Say you enter a large, open seating movie theater to see a movie youve been looking forward to.
Its a matinée and the place is only 1/5 full....open seats everywhere
.
But two people walk past all the empty seats and sit right directly in front of you. Not only that, but they talk real loud, stand up occassionally to stretch, and you are sure they smell so bad that one too a dump in their pants.
This theater allows them to do this, so you cant have them removed or club them like a baby seal.

Luckily there are probably 100 open seats, so you can move. Very easily

Do you
A) power through the stench, noise, etc and just stay in your same seat even if it really makes watching the movie a much worse experience...maybe even a terrible one?
Or
B) very simply get up, move to one of the wide open other 100 seats far away from these clowns, and really enjoy the show?

I choose “B”, and it seems like a no-brainer. The ignore button. Harms no one and makes it more enjoyable to come to the site
