The hammy epidemic

Many athletes have tight muscles, that lead to injuries. It has to be looked at from an individual's perspective. This could be bad training as well.

Look at Ware, whose constantly getting neck stingers and shoulder issues. Prior to these injuries and now, he has the classic signs of poor upper body posture that can cause issues. Inward rolled hands signifying tight chest and forward shoulder. This quashes shoulder joint and cause impingement. Over the long run it leads to things you are seeing now with him.

Just because your an athlete doesn't meant you don't have bad habits. Problems that can mask issues for athletes may include pain killers. They don't resolve the issue, they mask it.

We have one of the best S&C coaches in the history of the NFL who has 6 rings and worked under both Jimmy/Belichek.

It's not the S&C coach

I wonder how closely the Cowboys monitors players liquid intake. What type of requirements for players to monitors their hydration?

These hammy issues keep reminding me of a training camp report thread here on CZ during camp. I remember the poster staying he was surprised by how lackadaisical the team seemed to be in stretching and warming up before practice and that it didnt look like there was any cohesion to it. Everyone was just doing their own thing and half of them weren't even seriously stretching.

Really makes me wonder about our training staff.

All teams deal with Hammy issues.

Hell McFadden who we played today is recovering from a Hammy.

I'd bring in a new strength and conditioning coach, there's no reason we should have so many ham string injuries. Since most of the injuries are the same, I think that's telling us there's a flaw in how our guys stretch/warm up/work out.

Cant fire Mike Woicik. He's been the strength and conditioning coach for 6 SUPER BOWL TEAMS.

I felt the same way you did before I found out who he was, then I figured...he must be pretty good.

there is a muscle imbalance in their legs. there is something wrong with the weight lifting program.

I don't know what the exact problem is, but bad luck is not it. It is way to common to be considered bad luck. They need to bring in an expert to evaluate the strength and conditioning program. It seems that having the best strength and conditioning coach in the league bid not working out.
