Aikman was a part of that talent .I never understood why people knock Aikman for the talent he had around him? How is that his fault?
Aikman could have been one if the leading passers in NFL history if he played in an offense that needed him to play that role. That is not just my opinion, but the opinion of many players, coaches and scouts that knew how much talent that Aikman really had. To a large extent, the offense very rarely needed Aikman to really use his talent and much of it was wasted in the offense that Dallas used.I have a controversial opinion but to me I would almost flip that for low and high. Emmitt was that offense, and Irvin was the second best player. Aikman was a very good QB, but at no point did I think he was one of the very very best in football. Andrew Luck was in that very best in football talk. He could take a team of nothing and win 8-9 games and then when that team doesnt have him they win 2 games.
