Dak is 2016 Romo. Lance is 2016 Dak.

Dak's career with the Cowboys will end the same way Romo's did.

That is being replaced via a 4th round pick that started the season as the 3rd string QB.

The only question is will it be because of Dak's play or his inability to stay healthy?

Everybody thinks Lance is just not ready, but the same things were said about Dak.

History is repeating itself right before our eyes.
Dak is being replaced cause he got his bag and failed to bring the bacon home.
The Jones boys have seen enough.
The End.................

As a Cowboys fan i hope Lance does not have to get on the field this year or it means the season is over
The schedule isn't last year's cream puff.

Taking into consideration the pressure # 4 is under and the fact that both Zeke and his favorite TE are gone don't consider the playoffs a gimmie this coming season.
Personally, my best-case scenario is a wild card and the worst is Dak imploding (due to the pressure) early and it's going to be a long season.

This is supposed to be a Cowboys forum and we have a bunch of negative threads about our quarterback getting injured or complaints about not drafting a nobody guard in the second round. This board has lost it’s marbles. :(

No.

Dak is just Dak, but he's light years beyond Lance at this point, and there's no evidence that's going to change anytime soon.

Perhaps a year from now, that could change, especially if Dak continues his aging decline.

hmmm, are you sure? for that to happen both Dak and Rush have to get injured for Lance to have any chance.

Lance is not a 4th round pick. Lance is 3rd pick of the draft. he was traded for a 4th round pick. they are not the same.

I hope lance is all that. he has to show it. where Dak was an unknown and a rookie. Lance is not a rookie and so far he has shown he doesn't belong in NFL. he can throw a pretty ball (so could leaf, russell, george, etc. ).

like I said, I hope Lance is all that. but you maybe counting your chickens too soon.

Book this you and no one else on this forum know what Lance has capability wise bc he hadn’t played. Think about Lance has played all of what 4 games in the nfl. He was hurt first year(2021) broke index finger that he couldn’t straighten in order to throw, remind me of someone last year, except he didn’t have the excuse train behind him. 2022 broke a tub/fib l also like someone we know. Point is no one knows what his capability is, but he did score a 40 on the wonderlic vs Dak 25. Maybe he can’t read defenses bc he hasn’t had the opportunity to get his legs under him in real game situations. Haters will say he has had plenty of time to show he can learn through watching film and being in qb room, however, Jimmy g says otherwise in his support of Treys trade.
wait, you complain about an "excuse train" and then you continue to provide excuses. I don't get it.

The End.................
'The Jones boys have seen enough' is an interesting way to put it. Unfortunately, Jerry Jones, of the Jones boys, has been around for over three decades. And man, can he tell some stories.

Like the time he KNEW Quincy Carter was The One. Jones did not have a first round draft pick but he sure did go after Carter with his second rounder, yes sir you rey Bob!

Jones had complete faith in his football insight. He would draft Troy Aikman's replacement. Done. Then The Brain his next step would be acquiring a veteran, Tony Banks, to slowly ease his new franchise quarterback into his new role. Mission accomplishment! Then he got rid of the veteran a full month before the season started. Brilliant! And the rest is history, with an ending for his franchise quarterback acquisition decision making complete with a Sanford & Son theme.

lol.

You may want to start hoping Dak Prescott gets caught smoking weed between now and Sunday night. Wish for it really really hard, because Jerry Jones, a.k.a. the Jones boys, has an established history, involving MULTIPLE quarterbacks, that he considers The One. Expecting him to give up on one of them, according to your schedule, has never been the same as him giving up on them on HIS.

Breaks my heart. Tony was a warrior.
Romo's body failed him. The dreaded hurt back, killer of many a QB career, including Aikman's. When Dak starts having back problems, then you will really know the end is near.

They’ve got the superbowl replay on NFLN right now. When I turned it on it was the moment when Jalen Hurts (part of why he lost his job at Bama) choked away the ball and gave the chiefs the game with a defensive td.

This label may follow him around.

Shout out to lowly Eagirls fans that post here. (Losers):p

We disagree a lot here but we cannot compare 2016 Dak to 2023 Lance. Dak played a LOT more college football. Lance threw just 318 passes in school, and he did that at North Dakota State while Dak played in the SEC. Dak was not seen as a finished product coming out of MSU but he was much, much more prepared for the NFL than Lance is even now.

Not saying Lance will never be the guy here and I agree there are a lot of historical similarities going on here. But Lance is at least a couple years away.
