I need to come clean guys, I was actually excited about Heath starting this year. He made some plays last year and I thought he was growing into a player. WOW was I wrong. Funny how guys like Heath and Wilcox can look so good in limited roles but when given an oppurtunity poop in thier big boy pants.

I understand why. A lot of guys on here got duped by his game against the Packers. Saw his highlight plays and thought he was on the verge. But there was a reason why Wilcox was in front of him. He's a special teams player and a backup who is good in doses. But if he plays anymore than that then his weaknesses become glaring. HE has no business starting in this league and he doesn't have any business starting on this team. Woods, Frazier, whoever.........they need to be getting most of the snaps.

No safeties and no linebackers is a hard way to make a living on defense.
Boy are you correct, the safety and linebacker play, absent Sean Lee, is really bad. Add not having a dominant defensive line and you have the ingredients for a bad defense.

I have officially seen enough. He might be the worst starting safety in the league (worse than Tony Dixon was); he takes horrible angles, doesn't wrap up on tackles, and continues to be a huge liability in the passing game.

Name Xavier Woods the starter now and move Heath back exclusively to special teams.

after he lets WR get up and run for 15 yards...that was it for me. If your gonna have limited physical ability atleast play smart. He literally brings nothing to table. Is he even a back up?

My guess is that Heath wasn't starting last season because of his tackling and his struggles with assignments. Church was limited in coverage, but tackled much better and wasn't missing assignments.

My guess is that the team figured that while Heath had his own deficiencies they believed he had more range and a better nose for the ball and while we could give up more yards, we could get more interceptions with Heath. And since our offense is productive and tends to win the time of possession, it makes for a net positive.

Problem is that we are not getting more interceptions with Heath. So just from that, we've got a problem. But add missing assignments and just some awful tackling I think we need to seriously consider a change of putting Woods in.

Is that you Nick Eatmon? Do you still think people might be discriminating on him based on race lol? I still laugh at that one but I guess when your one of the few that light get said when in his case he is just okay in full time starter mode.

Saw the poor angles and missed tackles in the preseason and was a little concerned, but too small of a sample size. Now it seems like this is the real Heath.

Didn't get exposed playing sparingly last season. Put him back in last year's role and he'll be fine.

I thought Heath would have progress.....he's only showed ST skills which makes him very expendable. Footwork is lacking. Probably the worse FS in the division.
