Stautner, Look my man, I am just passing along what was said on NFL live last night that JJ shouldn't have been 7 yards back in that situation, and it made sense. I nor can anyone that isn't in the coaches meetings be sure what is going on. However, given our history of having our QB sacked consistently against the Gmen why can't we devise a scheme that is effective against Strahan. It isn't like they surprised us by blitzing our quarterback is it?

I agree completely that we need to find better ways to stop the rush, but we have to realize that scheming doesn't solve everything, and the fact is that we have a very average O-line and JJ is a poor blocker in the backfield.

I'm really surprised we had JJ in the backfield at all when we got the safety - Barber is a better blocker and receiver if we planned to pass, and more likely to get a few tough yards up the middle if we ran.

I saw the same show.

On that particular play, it sure looked like the Cowboys were in the wrong formation for the situation.

Maybe it was a coaching error, maybe it was a players error, but there was an error of some kind.
