No, it isn’t the famous Mall of America that we’re talking about, but rather the South China Mall located in Guangzhou, China. With an outdoor canal system that resembles The Venetian in Las Vegas, carnival rides, and tons of Western themed decor, you’d think you wandered into the ******* child of Walt Disney and Steve Wynn. Yet for all it’s glitz and glamour, the South China Mall is empty. Like, eerily empty. Check out the feature PBS did on it below. Weird.

Talk about a real estate bubble. China is building **** just to build **** to keep up their GDP. They will crash and burn...it is only a matter of time.

Good to know. We've been competing with them lately for mineral right contracts. They're going on a spending binge, especially with shale oil contracts.

And those pictures...wow.

They are (The Chinese) without a doubt, the greatest wasters of resources on the planet.

Either that or their strategic economic plans extend to a half century from now.

The pics of those ghost cities are crazy. Bet it would be creepy walking around there. Looks like another planet.

The ghost towns are a little creepy.

And some of them have been empty for over a decade? Wow.

China has 64 million vacant homes, including entire cities that are empty

Wow I had no idea. What are they building all those cities and homes for?

My guess is jobs.

I imagine some of those places are littered with squatters.

Reminds me of that North Korean hotel that they suddenly stopped building, even though it was 90% finished.

Very interesting indeed. Makes you wonder what they know that the rest of the world don't.

Well, China is a little backwards. They build all these ghost towns for people to live in, then kill all or most of the baby girls that are born?

No wonder nobody lives in those neighbor hoods...how can they reproduce?

An article that I read says that killing girls is because "men work harder, and women cause prostitution and over population"....
