Yes, when Romo leaves the Cowboys the last gunslinger will ride off into the Sunset. The day when the Romo would come out and save a low level Cowboy’s offense will be gone. This is the dawn of an era that says the Coaching staff knows what they are doing and field offense and defensive teams that are extensions of sound strategies and tactics. Games will be won by superior talent wheeled by master chest players. Romo’s escape ability to make up for a RT who should have been a matador in a bull fight by letting DEs kill his QB. Yes, there is no need for that kind of talent ever again.

Romo got into a world of trouble when he tried to become the second coming of Brett Favre.

It's when he learned to protect the ball that he managed to transform into being at his best.

The only part of the premise I agree with is that the adaptability and free lance competitiveness of Romo will be leaving.
It's true that Dak will follow the coaching calls and look for the least risk open receiver even if sometimes he holds onto
the ball too long. What I can't agree with is that the offensive coaches have chess minds that are all knowing and have
absolute wonderful game plans each week. That last game against the Packers was awful and was the prime reason
we fell so far behind in the first half and why we eventually lost the game on that last drive we had the ball. Why we deviated so
drastically from our season long game strategy in that game was mind boggling to me.

I have no idea what's going on in this thread.
I guess I should have titled this as "Ode to a Gunslinger". Satire on the present state of the Cowboys and a transition into something else. Lose of era and where we should be going.

Just another doey-eyed fan.

Hey I'm a Romo fan but some of these posters... It borders on something I'd see on the Investigation Discovery channel.
So much this. I'm a huge Romo fan and always will be, but there are some posters who have taken fandom to a scary level this season. Like almost, Romo news clippings pasted all over the walls of a dark basement, type of scary.

"My life fades. The vision dims. All that remains are memories. I remember a time of chaos, ruined dreams, this wasted land. But most of all, I remember the road warrior, the man we called Romo."

Shamelessly taken from the Road Warrior.

I just hope Dak can somehow deal with this insane clown posse at least as well as Romo did.

If not. We're all brutally screwed.
