Completely agree. These are two guys in Jerry and MM who had to see each other at minimum on a weekly basis for half the year. The fact that Jerry was this out of touch with McCarthy is worrisome, both from the fact that Jerry was this clueless, and he was this unprepared for not getting his way.
Jerry played Big Mike. #revenge

he was never going to offer a new contract.

Big Mike embarrassed Jerry with the playoff home loss to GB.

followed by the terrible home record in 2024.

plus Jerry Man-Cried in front of millions after the playoff disaster.

ever cried in front of millions? 8)

I am not a MM fan by any means, but happy he escaped the asylum. Jerry gave him a ****** roster to begin the year; then praises MM for keeping the team together through injury and adversity; THEN denies other teams seeking HC interviews with MM, only to let him go a few days later and spin it to make it seem that the terms of a contract could not be mutually agreed upon.

I think MM decided to explore options elsewhere, especially in light of some interest from other teams (and maybe why he got a new agent); and In true incompetent GM fashion, Jerry had no contingency plan in the event MM left…Jerry is delusional in his thinking that coaches will jump at the chance to coach the Cowboys…so he will bring in the same retread and/or coaches out of the game for years who will be thankful for jobs and thus acquiesce to Jerry’s whims.
The team wasn’t ready to play when the season started.

I caught the last practices at camp in Oxnard.

everything looked lazy. You could see it.

and then the terrible offense.

it’s best that Mike moved on. He wasn’t the coach we needed.

Yeah….as I said in another thread….total shock that Mike didn’t want to return to work for the greatest owner of the greatest franchise under the greatest circumstances…for less than the going rate.

It’s clear and full evidence of the delusion and how much they think of themselves.

Now they scramble….and Moore isn’t coming here. He knows better.
Mike was never getting a new contract from Jerry.

Jerry runs this team by the seat of his pants - all the time. This is no different.
The biggest problem I have is cap management.

theyve done a poor job.

extending Dak (who is aging and in decline) and the recent reliance on Void years in big contracts.

we have a ton of dead money in 2025.

The CAP has to be managed over a period of years and that is hard to do if you have no plan for the team. For example, the should have understood in 2023 how much it would take to sign Dak and CeeDee. They should already know what it will take to sign Micah. These deal should not be a surprise to them.

So you think hiring Deion would win the press conference and hype everyone up (it wouldn't hype me or plenty of others up)... What about actually being a top NFL coach and winning games? Why do you think Deion would be a good pro coach when recruiting doesn't matter and he can't portal in an entire new team like he did at CU? Just the shades, jewelry, and cowboy hat?
I think he is more of a disciplinarian than we have had since Parcells. He will be a magnet for attention, easing pressure on some of these players. He will change these players' bravado, making them arrogant and have a winner's mentality.

He is not the X's and O's coach, I don't care about that anyway. Most HC's have little to do with that anyway. He is a CEO coach and will get the most out of these players. This is why I have strong DC and OC in my idea.

He WILL attract many players and coaches who want to be around this.

Dallas will be fun again and not just getting a guy like Ben Johnson who seems good on paper but is most definitely (like KW) not a leader of men.

Finally, he will be given more leeway than any coach has had since Parcells by the Jones's. He will get the players he wants, imo.

Jerry seems to think if he waits until the last minute then he can leverage people to sign a deal that benefits the organization....but people are wise to this tactic and are willing to walk instead of signing a deal that they feel is disrespectful....
DP and CD were both probably willing to walk if they didn't get the deals they got....the aura of being a Dallas Cowboy isn't worth what it used to be regardless of the Forbes list.
:hammer:The reputation is a complete and utter shitshow.....Just the way Jerry likes it.
