Lions continue pursuit of Law

Free agent cornerback Ty Law worked out Monday for the Detroit Lions.


Law also took a physical and met with Lions' coach Steve Mariucci and president Matt Millen, team spokesman Bill Keenist said.

Law, 31, was released by New England in February after 10 seasons. Law visited the Lions earlier in the offseason but did not work out.

The former Michigan player is recovering from a broken left foot suffered Oct. 31.

"He looks great," one of Law's agents, Kevin Poston, said while watching Law work out for the Lions on Monday morning.

The Lions are one of several teams that are interested in Law. Pittsburgh and the New York Jets are among the other teams with interest.

The Lions already have signed two free-agent defensive backs —R.W. McQuarters and Kenoy Kennedy. The team has resigned restricted free agent cornerbacks Chris Cash and Andre Goodman. Safety Bracy Walker was also resigned.

The team released safety Brock Marion.

The Lions have been active in the this year's free agent market, signing quarterback Jeff Garcia and tight end Marcus Pollard.

He's 31, he played like crap last year under the new rules BEFORE he got hurt, he wants too much money, and the Postons are his agents.

All that on top of him being on a scooter with a boot, at the start of free agency.

It's really not that much of a head scratcher.

really, this Ty Law stuff is getting old. Yes, he was a great corner, but he's coming off a serious foot injury. I guess it's not a big deal though, cause his agent (and Nors) tell me he's looking great. The fact he's still unemployed speaks volumes.

The reality of it is he's over 30, injured, and his best years are behind. Granted, someone will eventually overpay for his services at CB - I just hope it's the Commanders. They might have the inside track on him because he's represented by the Postons
