I know we discussed it earlier after Sean went down....

Who is realistic to become the leader?
Who are you hoping to become the leader of the D this year?

My hopes: Melton, Church, Crawford, Mo, Wilcox, Wilber and/or Lawrence. All young with something to prove. Carter is a pet of mine, but its hard to follow someone thats not very interested in the violent side of a sport and part of his job description is to be violent (ie Ware).

Guys that I hope never touch a MAIN leadership role defensively. Carr (production doesnt match pay), Selvie (how long will he wear a Star?), Mincey (see Selvie).

Church right now is the most visible leader on the D. It's been easily apparent for awhile.

Lee was The Man on D before he went down yet again. No need to speak anymore about that.

I'd like to see Melton step up and start taking ownership quickly being the hometown kid who came home, so to speak.
The guy has an opportunity to become a cornerstone of this team with his talent and his local origins.

D Law is a rookie and if he's a leader in his rookie year on the line- I think we're either in great trouble, or he just might become a tremendous boon and worth the trade up.
Time will tell.

Carr looks like he's pretty vocal. I wouldn't know if anybody looks to him as a leader though.

Wouldn't it be something if Claiborne could turn that corner (so to speak) and become a truly galvanizing force in that secondary?
That would be really nice and surely it would inspire others to raise their level of play as he did.

The biggest shocker would be Matt Johnson taking that leap into a starter's position, being very productive and missing ZERO time all the while being an inspirational and vocal leader.
Odds are maybe a million to one on that, but I would have a giant, sh%*#t eating grin if it happened.

So to summarize: Church and I hear-tell Mincey's barking like an Alpha. Yay.

My hope is Rolondo McClain. He really has it all laid out for him much like he did at Alabama.

Sounds good. Him being a RKG and all. He looks like a leader. He does need to work on his smile though.

I see optimism in the face of adversity.

I think the real test is whether his shoes match his belt/wallet. That's the kind of leadership we need around here.

My guess would be Carr or Church.

Great answers even though Carr is coming off a rough year.. more than likely due to scheme that didn't fit his style. Same thing happened to Flowers in KC this past year. I think Carr is going to come back strong and I see him as a leader.

Keep in mind McClain is 6'3 so he is fairly tall compared to the average person.
