All I ask is he continues to develop, and becomes at least a Tyler Eifert type. Probably might be better.

Him and Butler are just what the offense needs after not making any big splashes in free agency to go after another Receiving threat like our rivals have

Neither of those guys will get a lot of opportunity this year. Rico is still a year away except for using him in spots and Terrence and Cole are still gonna get more PT than Butler. It'll take like an injury to Dez for him to really be able to put up silly numbers.

He's going to be an absolute beast. He'll be better than Gronk. Bookmark this.

Eifert was a 1st round pick with elite athleticism and intangibles. And you're asking a dude who hadn't played football since the 8th grade to be better than him? That's CZone expectations right there if I've ever seen it

Rico made a couple of great catches and its easy to see that he is a very athletic pass catching TE.

But he is a weak blocker and has shown himself to be hot-headed (tossing his helmet twice in camp and getting into a "bad" fight) as well as cocky and entitled for a player who hasn't done anything yet.

I am intrigued by his potential-- but unimpressed with his persona. Will need to see more growth-- hopefully he absorbs as much as he can from Witten on how to go about his business-- but at this point, Rico looks like he has more in common with Martellus Bennett than Witten.

It's funny u used The Rocks pic for this thread. Rico referred to himself in the 3rd person after the game lol

I won't bump any of my old Rico threads. The mods already have plenty to keep them busy.

I will just say it's nice to see the fan footprint growing.

Shades of my early love for Beastley & how that panned out.

For every Tashard Choice there's a Cole Beastley.

You're right, that is CZone expectations. I won't argue that. Just trying to be like you and fit in boss

For anyone with a sense of reality, Rico was a project from the get-go. He's already come a long way for one so green and undoubtedly still has much to do before he's ready to assume a starting role. Nevertheless, his work ethic is solid. The FO and staff haven't given up on him nearly as much as some here apparently might choose to. Time and effort can cure a multitude of problems when patience meets opportunity.
