My condolences as well. I went thru that a few years back. He didn't understand football but thought "those outfits look pretty good" when he saw our Cowboys.

My Granddaddy, Travis Tidwell Burson, passed away last night at 10:40 Texas time, he was 75 and was overcome by cancer.

He went mercifully in the deep sleep he never awoke from, the family will mourn but I pray it will be a time to stir the hearts of my largely spiritually apathetic family to reflect upon where my Granddaddy has gone and why it is the terrible seperation has come to be.

Thank you for your mighty prayers, I must trust that our just God has done what His will saw fit to do, I pray it included claiming my Granddaddy for Himself.

-Travis

May God give you and your family the peace that passes all understanding!

God bless you, brother!

My deepest condolences to you and your family... keep him in your heart, make sure your kids know about him... so long as even one person lives who remembers the man, and loves him, he will live on...

It is never easy... for those of us left behind
nor is it easy to watch those we love suffer.

I lost my mother to cancer about 15 years ago
and remember thinking God either cure her
or let her die but don't keep her in such pain.

Little did I realize how much I would miss her
and still do nor did I realize that she was the
glue that had held the family together.

The only condolence I have had is that she is no
longer in pain...but her pain didn't just go away
it got transformed and transfered to those of us
who loved her and we live with this pain called
sorrow.

Sorrow accompanies me now everywhere I go
but I realized back awhile ago that it also
changed me... Before I would hear/see of
someone's loss and it did not touch me now
I can feel sorrow for their loss and learned
about compassion...Oh I still find myself
once and awhile being analytical instead
of compassionate but all in all I believe I
have changed for the better

No my friend it is never easy on those of us
left behind but some good, as you stated, can
come from it, for I am living proof may it be so
also by you and yours.

Very moving sentiments from Zaxor which I entirely identify with.

Funny how we argue passionately against each other on this board but can each come together as a united Cowboys' family in considerate support. It fills me with hope for the future.

My thoughts are with you and your family. Take care and go peacefully.

I'm sorry for your loss. I just lost my mother on June 21. She was also overcome by cancer. You have my condolences.
