Aside from being a quality, legit HC, you can easily see the difference he has made w/ a simple perusal of the difference at two positions: S and DT.

Our legit S's have made a monster of a difference on this D. No, they are not great S's, but they at least are legit NFL S's.

And of course, DT. Our DT's quite simply lacked the sand in their pants to anchor. Moved out of the way much too easily, and quite often at very inopportune times. Sooooo, we went out and got a legit DT w/ at least some playmaking/pocket collapsing ability. I actually don't remember the last time we traded for a quality NT. Monster of a difference. I'll never forget the stats on his first game, 3 YPC w/ him playing, 5 w/o. I mean, how much more obvious can it get?

I find it interesting that being from the offense side, Quinn has commented on how involved McC has been in helping him with the defense.

I also find it interesting that there were some rumors about the tiff between him and Rodgers being because McC wanted more help on the D side. I think McC had lost power with the Packers and Rodgers had taken over as we saw in that heated discussion in front of the team on the sideline.

What do the Packers do after firing McC and hiring LaFleur? Get Preston and Za'Darius Smith who both make the PB and Amos at S and the team goes to the NFCCG.

That was weird to me because they were always relatively cheap but they let him go and bring in Preston and Zadarius.......wasn't a fan of McCarthy at the time but even then I thought that was odd at the time.

Definitely an upgrade over Clapping Red

Being an offensive coach actually helps you breakdown defenses and find their weaknesses. As a walk around HC, this is not out of the ordinary.

MM really did not have much say so in GB as to player personnel.
But I believe he does in Dallas. As the myth of Jerry meddling and that he selects the players is over the top.

At least MM has some input, as Will McClay sets up the board. Which is set up different and better than under Garrett and his staff.
They draft a player then change the scheme for his talents, which we seen how that works.

Other DC's, they drafted players to fit the scheme, which we seen how that did not work.

And we've also seen how it works. Ahem, Demarcus Ware.

I agree with S, but I still need to see a little more at DT. They have 3 stud safeties. But they really only have Hankins as a mauler and he's not an every down player. Show me more consistency at DT and I'll be happy.

Absolutely.

What I'm hoping is that Jerry and co see what a difference a decent player like Hankins makes, and they start prioritizing the position. As opposed to 5th/6th round dart throws.

We should have snagged up Suh and lynnville Joseph instead of letting our division rival grab them and that would have given us plenty of beef in the middle

Or just look at the other 3 teams currently in the Division. Some of the best inside DL personnel in the game

8 teams left. 7 now.

KC: proto NT
BUFF: Proto NT
Cincy: Proto NT

Philly: proto NT
NYG: proto NT
SF: Nope
Dall: proto NT

Proto mean prototypical. SF is the only playoff team that doesn't have one. That I know of. Why? The only way you can get by w/o a NT is if your DLine is just extremely talented. Maybe this is the case in SF. Don't know.

Teams w/o NT's generally can't stop the run and it keeps them from winning in the playoffs. Thank bog for Hankins!!!!
