How soon we forget how bad our offenses were in the early part of this decade. Yikes...

i would have thought with all the rule changes scoring would have averaged higher in the last 2 decades.

No kidding, in 2002 we averaged 13.6 PPG. That whole season, our entire offense, passing and rushing combined, had 4375 yards. Right now Romo is on pace for 4433 yards. We threw 14 TDs that season.

Those may not be a totally useless stats. Remember before this season started, the Cowboys site had a top 50 players of all time. Eatman and Ellis were trying to reason why the older writers and fans favored players from the 60's and 70's while they favored players from the 90's. They came to the conclusion that the deciding factor was which players you grew up watching. I wonder if they would come to the same conclusion looking at the avg. points per decade. Those 60's and 70's teams were pretty good from what I can remember.

We have to go 10-6 this season to avoid having our first losing decade correct?

So technically 11-5, to have an above-.500 decade?

That is correct.

I can't wait for this decade to end.

Here's how each season 2000 season breaks down (offensive coordinator in parentheses):

2009 Points Scored (Garrett): 279

2008 Points Scored (Garrett): 362

2007 Points Scored (Sparano/Garrett): 455

2006 Points Scored (Payton/Sparano): 425

2005 Points Scored (Payton/Sparano): 325

2004 Points Scored (Carthon): 293

2003 Points Scored (Carthon): 289

2002 Points Scored (Coslet): 217

2001 Points Scored (Reilly): 246

2000 Points Scored (Reilly): 294

The Cowboys 2009 season average scoring so far is: 23.25%. Not sure how useful this info is.

The great 1970s and 1990s
The bad 1960s, 1980s, and 2000s

I guarantee the two thousand teens will be our decade!!

And if you looking for trends well we had 2 superbowl wins in the 70's and 3 in the 90's... sooooo we should have 4 between 2010 and 2020!

worst decade in franchise history?

First time the team doesn't likely do as much as make a conference championship and at this rate win a playoff game.

So, easily.

I think your sentiment is shared by every Commander fan in the world.

Your decade may have been bad, but ours :bang2:
