The new NFC East is a power house.

Sam Madison is a huge upgrade for the Giants.....I don't think you could call him aging and washed up yet people here are fine with signing McGinest....talk about pot meet kettle. :)

Roy got got burned last year in coverage,
TNew is good but he is no D. Sanders or TLaw (in his prime)
I like Julius Jones, when healthy and but does he scare anyone, Not me

the closest game changer I can think of is T Glenn, he could beat you deep and put 6 on the board quickly when healthy
and Yes we have young potential game changers but who are teams scared of???

Ben Roethlisberger, Hines Ward, Alan Faneca, Joey Porter, Troy Polamalu... just to name a few

The Steelers did that through good drafting but we haven't had the luxury of a Parcells controlled draft for that long, and he screwed up his second one.

Sometimes, if a freak free agent like LeCharles Bentley pops out of nowhere, you've gotta go full steam and sign him. Cowboys did that with Henry last year and it was a terrific signing.

Hines Ward is a very good player, but a game changing player? Roesthlisberger is a very good QB, but he isnt John Elway or Troy Aikman right now...Alan Faneca is a guard, he isnt a "game changing player"

the guy I was responding to said we needed big names like Vick, Moss and Owens, I said teams winning the super bowls dont have those kinds of players (and the issues that come with them)...the Steelers and Pats won because they play as a team with alot of above average to good players

he isnt washed up, but he isnt anywhere near as good as he was 3-4 yrs ago either...clearly on the downside

and I dont want McGinest either

after signing the likes of Ryan Young, Eddie George, Ferguson and Rivera, I'd think Jones should wise up on these aged "Parcells" player types...go get some young guys with a career ahead of them, not behind them

Agreed but Peyton always choked when looking at T LAw and Willie McGinst

Nice to meet you, kettle. At the cost of Will Allen, Sam Madison's not an upgrade. He's on the downside of a great career.

The two Wills weren't performing or the Giants would keep them being so thin....Madison is nearing his end but is still better than them for 2 years....Idgit. :)

so then I can safely assume you're behind a LeCharles Bentley movement ;)

That's really all we're saying. No more 35ish offensive linemen. Just say no to Mawae and the rest.

Apply the same reasoning to Miami's situation with Madison. Tell me what you come up with. I'll wait, while you puzzle it out.

Here's a hint, though: Madison offered to take a pay cut to stay with the Dolphins. They declined.

Don't forget the M. Wiley fiasco.
