Elliott's ypc the last 3 seasons

4.0
4.2
4.1

Stupid people tend to say stupid things I guess..
I just wont understand the constant Zeke hate around here Ronnie. At least when we see QB debates I can understand where the passion is coming from for both sides since you live and die by one player at the position. The Cowboys have two really good complimentary players at a position where you can get them both on the field and it's still about taking sides. It's like fans can't just sit back and appreciate anything anymore.

20 teams allowing at least 4.5 per carry is astonishing. To put that into perspective only 6 teams did that in 2000. Since 2018 we’ve seen a .1/ypc increase every season as more teams move their defenses to a pass D philosophy with smaller linebackers and strong safeties.

interestingly enough the 2000 Cowboys allowed a league worst 4.9 per carry.
Its not, called a Uturn adjustment.

teams for years gearing up with smaller DL, hybrid safety's tuned into LBs, corners playing Safety etc etc to cover Nickle, dime and crazy schemes stopping Pass happy Offense. Offenses say OK let's run again..not hard for RB to get going, maybe 2-3 RBBC can eat up these smaller defenses.

What this shows me is that stopping the run doesn't play as big role in wins and losses as people think. Haft the top run stopping teams on that list are bad and half the teams that suck at stopping the run have most wins.

Teams are hiring statisticians now and it’s quite possible that they’ve determined that mathematically it is better to stop the pass than stop the run. Hence your observation that teams that are best at stopping the run aren’t necessarily winning the most games.

There was a poster who was a statistician who was adamant about how well you run doesn't matter when it comes to wins and losses. I think his handle was Adam something. He doesn't post here anymore but he was a diehard believer in that how well you pass and how well you can stop the pass is the most important indicator for wins and losses.

Some of these people have been here hating the Cowboys since the old site. Before Dak and Zeke it was Romo and Witten or T.O. or D-Ware or T-New. Apparently hating your own players is a thing for some people. It's not for folks like you and me to understand..

I was going to post something about this. Looking around the league teams are having a lot of success running the football while defenses are struggling to stop the run. It has to be that defenses today are designed to stop the passing game leaving themselves vulnerable to the run.
