This season rests on our ability to run the ball and stop the run. I think this year we have finally gotten over the hump of stopping the run. However, because of our deficiencies with our FO not finding a dependable runningback in the draft or free agency, I doubt our running game will he enough to carry us through. The running game will be our achilles heals against teams like the Eagles, Lions and SF.

I don't know why our FO can't do better than Elliott, Dowdle and the little guy. We could have done much better than that in the offseason and our FO failed us once again.

I'm concentrating on next week only.

How does a CB get three sacks in the same game?

Alontae Taylor, the Saints 2nd round pick in 2022, wasn't even one of their three CB starters against the Panthers.

LOL, after playing the Panthers, the Saints have the #1 offense and #2 defense.

Bryce Young's first pass of the season was intercepted. He threw two INT's in his own territory and their WR, Jonathon Mingo also fumbled the ball in Panther territory. The Saints had three drives that started on the Panthers 43, 40, and 43.

The Saints scored on their first 9 drives. They didn't punt until 2;22 left in the 4th quarter. Last season the Saints were 9-8. They were 4-5 on the road.

I would keep an eye on Cooks.....if he doesn't bring what we are hoping, I can see them cutting him and considering a more quality back from a few bottom-feeding/losing teams.....Najee Harris for example.

I suspect we'll face challenges from several of the upcoming six opponents that the Cowboys will face in our upcoming games. Nevertheless, this team appears to be capable of putting up real challenges to each and every one of them. I think our team's chances on both sides of the ball will be proven capable in the weeks to come. That seems especially true, regarding Zimmer's defense with its current improvements. Offensively, the OL is admittedly a work in progress, although, Guyton and Beebe are of such quality that they promise to be highly capable in 2024.
