Sticky: The Official Let Dan Quinn Walk thread

After today, it might be time to move on from Quinn if he wants a HC job.
What say you?
Before today I wanted him to stay. Now not really. DQ and Parsons are the epitome of the Dallas Cowboys. We’re a finesse team but not tough. We make highlights but we don’t win anything. Micah is useless against the run, he is a one trick pony. DQ is a one trick pony. He gets TOs but can’t win against tough, hard nosed teams.

We’re a soft team and Quinn and Micah are a microcosm of the defense. Soft and can be bullied.

This thread is crazy, I understand the defense disappeared when we played good teams and we got blown out.
However, we were missing our #2 player on Defense almost the entire season. Overshown apparently was a costly
injury as well. Teams in this situation usually don't
even make the playoffs let alone win their division holding opponents to 18.9 a game.

Let's say Ferguson is the #2 player on Offense, how would have our Offense done with Ferg out all year? lol
This is an excuse, overshown was lost during a preseason game. This defense was just bad and scheme was the main culprit. The scheme falls on Quinn.

I could not agree more. Worse thing for Parsons was to have Quinn as DC. He never played the run and was not physics if he could not out quick an OL on pass rush. He, and the entire defense played like we were competing in a 7 on 7 league with no physical contact allowed.

When the game was 27-0, it was over. Dak essentially handed Green Bay 14 of those points with his 2 interceptions, including a pick six. Dak was horribly inaccurate up until then too, missing (and also not seeing) open receivers. Play calling was also questionable.

If Dallas's offense had instead moved the ball and scored, this game unfolds completely differently. The defense was put in a no-win situation.

This defense also has some serious personnel issues. It is lacking key pieces.

Quinn cannot be blamed for any of that. Having the best defensive coordinator in the game would have changed anything today.

I think people glamour over him because he took the worst def in Cowboys history 2020, To solid. They’ve been solid but in the playoffs not good enough.

DQ never recovered from losing LVE and Overshown at LB along with Mazi not playing like a first round pick. Lost his best corner as a consolation prize. Everyone loved this same defense last year and ironic how they were the ones who did their job against SF but flopped hard this year in the Tourney. You’re only 1-2 injured players away from mediocrity. Teams have also seen enough film of #11 now to understand the best ways to counter him. Biggest letdown for me were the safeties. That was the feel good story in DQ’s first year and had some recent flashbacks with Wilson but they weren’t the same either without Diggs hawking the ball back there, and good LB support.

Lol @ any team wanting those blow hard clown as head coach. He's not even good enough to be a defensive coordinator. His schemes are disgusting. Soft zone all game, even on 3rd and 4. Dropping your best pass rusher into zone coverage on key 3rd downs that are 3rd and long.

He's a loser to the highest degree. People got way too wrapped up with all these turnovers against teams like the Patriots, Jets and Giants, 3 of the worst teams in football. This defense was not good against any offense with a pulse.

Quinn leaves and the defense will be instantly set back for at least two seasons is my guess.

Did we forget what it was before Quinn arrived?

Quinn failed to adjust in game. You’re getting gashed in the run…. And he refuses to even bring a safety up…. Or have a 7 man box until practically the 4th quarter.

And the worst thing is they left guys back don’t commit to dropping the run and still got completely gashed in the passing game

Similar but not worse than today's effort. Bye.
Exactly. Unless we got turnovers our defense struggled to get stops. Our defense is overrated in the Packers showed everyone that today.
We came in this game pretty healthy. And we stunk. Yes I know Trevon Diggs and LVE got hurt for the year but man that was the worst defensive performance I have seen in a NFL playoff game in a while from the Cowboys.

Absolutely hopeless effort. Zero resistance for 4 quarters.

Made no adjustments. Continued to play his DBs soft all season. It seemed like every throw GB made today was wide open.

Next to Dan Quinn blowing a huge lead in the SB this might be the worst post season coaching job ever.

..my brother was yelling at me, "receivers are wide open".

I was,."c'mon Quinn change the scheme".

It just got worse. Out coached for sure.
