The Oklahoman: Dallas Cowboys spokesman says team not interested in Adarius Bowman

He'll sign with someone.

And please guys, the problem isn't that he smoked weed, the problem is that he was having a terrible off season and was still dumb enough to get caught with it on him between the combine and the draft. That's beyond stupid.

You mean to tell me a guy can't stay squeeky clean for the few weeks leading up to the biggest moment of his life?

And Talib tested positive 3 times in college - isn't that what he said? - top 20 pick.

Manningham too.

Has to be more here than meets the eye.

Maybe Bowman is resisting contract clauses that make it costly to slip up. Teams like to be protected against problem children.

:star:

There could be multiple factors in this, but as far as the Cowboys are concerned, this may be in our best interests if we want to see Pacman on the field. If Jerry brings in a bunch of questionable characters, Goodell may take it into consideration for Pacman's reinstatement. One player = Giving them a second chance. A bunch of players no one else will touch = Don't care about the NFLs reputation or the players; just want to win.

i bet if he can somehow turn that 4.74 into a 4.47 all that weed stuff will dissappear. at least unitl final cut day. it's the pedestrian 40 that making teams shy away. Somebody once said that teams would give Charles Manson a tryout if they found out he could run the 40 under 4.3 seconds.

This guy had a nice junior season, but his senior season sucked. It's like he regressed as he got older. I'm with everyone that thought he would be a 1st round pick early in his career, but last season he looked slow and uninterested. It also seems like he is more into bodybuilding then football.

We don't need any other 4.7 40 receivers either.....we have Crayton and Hurd for that!

As far as I know, neither Manningham nor Talib was kicked out of their first school for weed and then caught with it again, and arrested between the combine and the draft.

its still pretty amazing he didnt get drafted and manningham did...even with his marijuana and slow 40..

The difference is that Manningham finally did admit his mistakes, and like Luis Castillo a few years before, sent letters to all NFL teams showing his contrition.

Bowman, on the other hand, showed the ultimate in stupidity by not only smoking pot, but getting caught with a bunch of it, RIGHT BEFORE the freaking draft!! This says to NFL teams that this kid just doesn't get it, and will be doing the same stupid crap once they pay him a pile of money. What a moron!

What is the difference between using it and getting caught with it?

The one got caught - the act is the same!

Talib testeb postive for it 3 times didn't he. He Probably should have been kicked out.

I dont see any other teams willing to take a chance on him.....there must be somthing that isnt right.

Its too bad a idiot like that couldnt see a future in front on him given his god given ablility......what a waste.

Mixing up two different situations, and getting them wrong...Manningham actually didn't tell the truth initially and Bowman had always come clean and admitted his guilt...Two very big distinctions

Doing the same stupid crap once them pay him a pile of money?...Care to hazzard a guess how many stupid morons are smoking weed in the NFL much less all the league combined?...A percentage?...If it's less than 65%, I'd be shocked...It's weed...It ain't guns, it ain't controlled substances, ain't violence etc...It's weed...Perspective, people.

My guess is that he ends up in Tampa Bay.

Gruden could care less about off-the-field behavior.

And I'm sure Bowman could learn a lot from Antonio Bryant!

:lmao:

this guy has character flaws and we do not put up with that stuff in our organization!

I guess you're right. I mean, with outstanding citizens like Crackpipe Irvin, Strip Tease Jones and Rambo Johnson, who could argue that?

Nothing like comparing apples to apples, eh?

As many of you have said, the weed trouble by itself isn't enough to not get teh kid an UDFA contract. That stuff is CHEAP. There has to be some flaws in his game that the scouts see or they'd bring him in for sure.

Are smoking weed currently? 65% of the NFL is as dumb as a brick? Boy, I sure hope not.

There is testing in place and these guys are not that stupid as to rest millions of dollars on a stupid thing like weed. You seem to think it is nothing but I don't think most do.

Sorry, you're in the minority with the "it's only weed argument"

Not like an argument comparing Antonio Bryant to Bowman though, eh?

Let's see, two boneheads who've managed to flush God-given talent down the drain?

Sounds about right to me.

Difference being one is on his way out of the league and one may never get in.
