The Chargers feature a 3-4 defense with Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack. I would call it a draw. The problem was mostly the direction of the pass rush. In a 3-4 defense the 4th pass rusher can come from anywhere and offensive lines have to recognize when it happens. There were some communication breakdowns and even confusion at times.

From what I understand, the 5 actual starters have now played together in two consecutive games for the first time in two and a half seasons. I think this squad can and will improve, barring injury, and that's a notable exception.

Enough said

Mike Solari has made this unit even worse than last year somehow.

Steele looks regressed (he was always bad)
Tyron needs to retire
Biadasz was getting bullrushed all game
I was thinking the same thing this morning. this OL should be opening holes up the middle easily. and pass protection is really bad.

Isn't this ironic?

How does a thread begin with the phrase "enough said" and still manage to go 5 pages?

Teams still prefer to force our offense thru Dak, Giants coach said it 5 years ago.....most teams have subscribed to the game plan.

They sure the hell can't run block lately, and the last few games, their pass blocking has been less than average.

It's sad considering the last 2 games the OLine has been at "Full Strength" with Pollard running into walls and Dak running for his life.
TEs have also been terrible at blocking. There was a play where McKeon simply ignored a defender who got to Pollard early behind the LOS.

The O-line is fine one of the best in the league, the opposing team has an NFL defense. The QB needs to time up some passes in 2.5-3 secs, three steps plant and throw. Judge the o-line off those.
SD has a pretty good run defense, I'd like to see improvement in this area.

Most everything Dak did tonight was on extended plays, in the 4-5 sec window, he was pretty good with his feet last night.

Pollards broken play 60 was beautiful but am I off the mark to think inside the 10 get Dowdle down hill every now and then . He drags tacklers with him . Same with Tolbert . Can he not get a couple of targets stretch the chains. Use the roster . It was nice to see Brandin Cooks , nice game lots of speed.
Didn’t realize how small Cooks is but he does have some jets and vertical ability said more jet sweeps from him off a play action up the middle run could pay dividends

Need to work Tolbert in as Gallup is showing hands of stone tendencies

Interesting to hear Troy open up on missed opportunities in the pass game especially late in game where tight end was wide open running down the middle

Pollard got caught from behind on his big play. Easily. He also didn't take the proper angle relative to the guy who caught him.
He doesn't look full speed to me.
Agree he should have angled instead of straight run at the end. Also saw a post that Gallup could have helped with a block

Wonder how fast Assante Samuel is as he’s the guy who caught Pollard

Agree no continuity and 2 stud pass rushers can cause problems

Someone tell me again how great Martin is. Best G in the league right? He's not doing any better than the rest of them. Good work on he & his agents' part to get that free money in the off-season.

2 out of the top 3 picks need to be best OL available in the draft. Honestly I vote for Center if the best value is there
