A.J. Hawk He's big, physical and fast. He should be available around #5. And he would give the defense something it desperately needs.. attitude. Too many nice guys on defense. I want to see the more swagger and more aggressiveness.

I'd trade up for Huff out of Texas. It wouldn't be as big of a move, but he is a safety with good cover skills.

moving up to 5 would take waayy too much. if huff falls to 12 or 13 then trading up would be plausible

The best player in this Draft is D'Brickashaw Ferguson. I wouldn't trade up to get him when there will likely be a good option in round 2 if we look to go that route. If we address OL I think it will be OG not OT due to the age of ours.

Hawk is one of the players I would wish for like crazy. He'll go high. I'll gladly take his line mate Bobby Carpenter and pencil him in as the SOLB.

right on the............:money:

I'd consider trading up for Ngata if he fell to #12 or so. We seem to just waste our second rounders every year anyways (except for Julius).

I am against trading up until I looked this up......

2005 - K. Burnett
2004 - J. Jones
2004 - S. Peterman
2003 - A. Johnson
2002 - A. Gurode
2002 - A. Bryant
2001 - Q. Carter
2001 - T. Dixon
2000 - D. Goodrich
1999 - S. Page
1998 - F. Adams
1997 - none
1996 - K. Pittman
1996 - R. Godfrey

VY the only one worth trading up that high for. I wouldn't be surprized if Greenway, Carpenter ended up being a better pro and that's not necessarily a knock on A.J. just a testement to how deep this draft is at LBer.

You need to swap out Peterman for the even bigger bust that was Jacob Rogers.

Flo was a pretty good player for us.

Godfery was a good player who we lost during Cap Hell and ultimately never lived up to his true potential because of knee injuries.

Overall, a very sad lot for 10 years of second rounders.

I don't know much about AJ Hawk except that he is a stud linebacker. I'll agree with your assessment that he is the only one worth trading up for. My question is, if defense is the only thing worth trading up for, why do it?

In past years, I've thought that if Dallas did not acquire one certain player, the entire draft would be a disappointment. The Dallas offense really needs value, and I'd like to see some young talent added to the group. Trading down, and acquiring two players of Anquan Boldin or Steve Smith quality would be an excellent idea.

The last draft showed that Dallas can pick solid players throughout the draft, I'm not going to lose it if "my player" doesn't get picked.

But hey, I'm not knocking AJ Hawk, he will probably do well wherever he goes.

i think the only player in this draft worth trading up for is Reggie Bush.

AJ Hawk is great but I think we get a similar player in Carpenter or Greenway. Huff being predominantly a S could allow him to fall also. I doubt anyone will draft him to strictly play CB, which should lower his draft position a little. He'd be a great fit here sure, but there are too many good players likely to fall to us at 18 to waste draft picks in order to move up. Now, if we're talking trading up using Glover and no extra draft picks...maybe.
I think trading up to take VY would be one of the worst decisions we could make, esp when the best college QB is coming out next year.

Players drop every year.

Last year this time Antajj was the flavor of the day and a
1st rounder, ended up dropping out of day 1 and I believe Raiders cut him - lost track.

Let the draft come to us. I'm not sure we would even draft Hawk if he fell - we shall see.

I can't see trading our #1 and #2 and maybe more for him.......

Lawson/Carpenter
Watson
Anthony Smith

For Hawk:eek::

After seeing the college challenge, I'm a believer in Young. I'd trade up for Young/Leinart/Hawk/Ngata/Jimmy Williams.

As an Irish fan I know how good Hawk is first hand after watching them dismantle my Irish's offense in the Fiesta Bowl. He'd be a great draft pick, but I'd talk Carpenter too if he's out there still then.
