So far we are headed for 7-9, 8-8 or 9-7

As I said in another thread.

We dominate in the first game

We get dominated in the second game

We get killed in the first half of the third game but pull it out in the second half of that game for a win.

We are killing it in the first half of the fourth game only to get killed in the second half and lose.

Teeter Totter
Bi-Polar
Fiddle Farting

If it continues...Middle of the Road team.

HOWEVER...

We continue to get some improved play from young guys like Woods, Lewis and maybe Cheetah if he gets healthy in the secondary.
If Lee comes back and we get Hitchens to play well
We get Irving and Moore to start helping out Collins and Tank

We get someone to play RT and OG better as the season goes on.

Who knows what can happen.

At least we should know what some of our young guys in the secondary can and cannot do by the end of the season.

Will we get better? Discuss.

Honestly, I have no idea.

You'd like to think that as the younger guys in the secondary get more experienced, the D will start to play better. And I can't imagine the OL being this inconsistent all year.

But, as most know I am down on the staff and at this point, who knows if they can fix what ails us.

I would like to believe we will improve after every game when the "lessons learned" are identified during film.

That's what the cliche mantra is at least:

The players may but it looks like the coaches haven't learned anything from previous mistakes.

This game looked just like the game against Atlanta in 2015. We came out hot, running all over them and lead 21-7 at one point. Weedon then throws a pick which helps Atl get back in the game.

We still lead 28-17 at the half. Atlanta made adjustments and shut our offense down in the second half. Our offense couldn't do anything in the second half and our tired defense got gashed. We lost 39-28.

Sound familiar?

I think we will (get better). I'm not overly concerned, yet, because it's happening now, as opposed to mid-late year (as yet, obviously that remains to be seen).

I like Dak, so far, this year. I think Zeke is getting better, Dez is picking it up (but has had some stinkers, admittedly), and the OL will get better. I think La'El is woefully underrated, now, and he'll continue to grow.

I like Woods at SS and that will make us better, as will our players coming back (Awuzie, Lee, Irving, Hitchens).

If you think the season is over after four games, I salute you, masochists, for enduring the rest of the year (12 more damned games) for enduring what you feel the ultimate fate of the team is.

We have 12 more games and are 2-2. Not 0-4, or even 1-3. The division is still wide open and we play the Eagles two more times.

I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe Dak isn't our guy. I don't think our D is Super Bowl caliber, but I think our offense is. Switzer killed us yesterday by having us alter our game plan.

I am a little concerned with the staff, I hope they're putting in the work and aren't deflecting blame.

If you were actually knowledgeable of the team whose message board you're on, you'd realize this is a ridiculous question.

It's always funny to me when people are literally posting "yeah it's going to take a bit for the young guys on defense to play together", and then 4 games in have soiled their pants and let emotion run amuck.

This team is going to look a lot different by the end of the season, and probably by the time we play the Eagles.

I honestly think its on Dak. If he can throw open the box, then yes. If he can't open up that box, and he continues his accuracy issues then I don't see being able to overcome the "just line up and beat your man" system we have here. The Oline will be on its heels and Zeke will see what he's see so far.

I'm just raising the question for discussion purposes--I'm not sure why you think I'm saying we won't. We will be much better with Lee and Hitchens playing and the O-line will gel. Nate Newton talks about the first four games now being like preseason was when he played because preseason now just does not prepare for the season.
