A buddy of mine made this bold proclamation last night. God I love me some pre-season optimism. The week before Week 1 might be the greatest week of the year.

And that tension/anxiety is what makes this week great.

Everything is new...it's like Christmas in September. Except we only get to unwrap one part of the toy a week until January, when it starts to take shape and we figure out what we were actually given.

We've got 5 months full of NFL Sundays, Thursdays, and Monday and NCAA Saturdays....and nothing is taken for granted.
