The Houston Texans are proud athletes just like the players on every NFL team. All week they were hearing how they were supposed to lay down and get run over. Every day of every season they have to experience the Cowboys getting all the attention even in the seasons where the Texans have a better record.
Here, in Texas, they are the NFL version of the unwanted stepchild.
Playing the Cowboys is their Super Bowl, particularly during a season like this. Beating the Cowboys would have meant everything to their fans. many Cowboys fans just don't realize what it means to the fans of other teams when they upset the Cowboys.
The Texans worked very hard to prepare and they played with a ferocious intensity. Give the Texans some credit for contributing to the Cowboys struggle against them. They taught the Cowboys a lesson when it comes to taking teams for granted. I'm just grateful that the Cowboys were given this lesson without having to experience the consequences.
In the end, both the Cowboys offense and their defense found redemption in the last minutes of the game. Some teams separate themselves from others by scoring. Others separate themselves by how they react in pressure situations, particularly when driving for the winning score at the end of a game.
The outcome of this game has no effect on how the Cowboys will play against the Eagles. This is because the Cowboys players understand the nature of competition in the NFL and this game will not shake their confidence
