About the only thing this proved was as ****** as we all known this team is, Washington still managed to play worse. At home. Just like us. At home.

Next three games . Giants Bengals Panthers two at home . 7-7 and pushing for a playoff game . Is that on the horizon ?

Honestly, that thought crossed my mind in the fourth quarter.

Perhaps that's one reason why I was hoping they could close it out like they did most of the game.

I think everyone could agree this was one really wacky odd game, and again, thankful the cowboys won, just wanted them to close it out.

We will see next week.

This changes nothing. McCarthy is still dead man walking.

As for the game, any given Sunday.
Yep...I strongly disagree with "tanking." It's loser-lingo and, as a practice, gets teams used to thinking that losing is OK. Or, worse, cleverly "strategic."

It's fun to p*** in someone else's punch bowl once in a while.

Why wouldn't McCarthy do everything he can to win every single game he can? (The question being rhetorical.)

Eagles...

I got to watch the whole game which was a rarity in my area.

The cowboys IMO could have taken some momentum if they would have finished the game, but what was their defense doing in the last couple of drives of Washington?

Zimmer isn't the answer.

YES, I thought even at the half the cowboys could win this game.

That last touchdown pass by Washington someone should have fired by that on Dallas's side.

That last onside kick Dallas got? Yes, great we got a touchdown, but you NEVER run it back, it get down on the ground and run the clock out. GREAT we got a touchdown, but it opened the door up again.

I REALLY want to feel good about this win and not be a debbie downer, but the whole way the game played out and with Dallas's boneheaded mistakes, it doesn't.

End of the day, it feels like it was luck and not being the better team. Keep in mind, I do honestly believe Dallas was the better team for the whole game except for those last couple of drives by Washington.

Washington doesn't miss those two extra points, they probably win.

Yes, a win is a win, and it's great, but from the last half of the 4th quarter, I feel like the old cowboys came back.
The ball finally "bounced" Dallas way for a change......always a good win when you beat your rivals.

Dallas is still a bad team. With a bad coach. They'll win one or maybe two more. That'll be it...
As long as we beat the Giants, the Eagles and the commanders, and Pittsburgh don’t care what happens

All I know is that I had fun with this one. All the other stuff, doesn't matter to me, right now. Go Cowboys!
I agree. I was P.O. early on because we were playing scared with all those 2 yd routes but overall it was a lot of fun. Great game and ALWAYS good to beat Washington.

So this benefits Fats McCarthy but hurts the Cowboys. How is winning a good thing? This team is not making the playoffs. Losing out is the best way to win for the draft.

Over the last 10 years, who have been the greatest drafts the cowboys picked and developed? I honestly don't know, which is why I'm asking.

For better or worse, I'm of the mindset that you never play to lose...

Sorry...I'm not a believer in strategic-losing. Or, "tanking", as it's popularly called. It's not clever, it's not smart...and it's not ethical. I'd like to think that not one guy here would ever think about teaching his son (or daughter) such a depressing lesson. "Listen, son...we don't want to win this game tonight, because there's a chance your team could land a really good player next year if we lose. Even though this may be YOUR last season. So, don't try too hard." Ridiculous & reprehensible. You don't enter an athletic arena unless you are committed to giving best effort to win the contest.

And, who really gives a damn where the draft picks land? Did a "tanking" team draft Tom Brady at #199? Perhaps Ryan Leaf at #2? I grew up on a dairy farm...and the draft is not much more than a high-end cattle auction. Now matter how promising the livestock in the ring may look, you don't know how much milk a cow is going to give until you get it into the barn. And, it definitely matters whose barn it is.

Then you fail to realize how the Detroit Lions (previous decade perennial bottom-of-the-barrel losers) suddenly have such good talent and such a good team. Same goes for several other current very good teams. It's because they constantly drafted early in recent drafts, along with making a few trades and free agent signings.

Tell us all how drafting so late in every round has worked for the Cowboys for the past 30 years?
