The Orville

Show is confused.

Doesn't know what it wants to be a copy of.

No chance of originality here. None.

Surprised by this 3rd episode. I was cringing expecting it to go in one direction towards the beginning, but thankfully it was smarter than that. I did not expect it to be this serious. It seems each episode has gone further in that direction.

I've seen all of the episode so far, and I've gotta say that both my wife and I like it a lot. We're both big Family Guy fans so I guess we are predisposed to enjoy his type of humor, but I've been pleasantly surprised by some of the story lines and the fact that the humor takes a back seat most of the time.

I love the Orville. I've been a Star Trek fan ever since I was a kid, but have been disappointed by recent Trek. I did not like the reboot movies, and ST Discovery leaves much to be desired, at least so far. IMO the Orville has been doing a better job of creating Trek-like stories. I find the humor works. I'm enjoying it.

I think it's Star Trek (maybe ST Lite) with pop culture references. Enjoying it more and more each week.
