I like McElroy too but there is just no upside with this guy.

He truly is the next Jason Garrett.

Can anyone list the most athletic ILBers that would be cover ones , NOT in the first three or so rounds?

Not much mention of this, but unless we get a David Harris or Thomas Howard or someone, we would need to draft somebody and not early.

Thomas Howard is too tiny to play a 34 LB position.

Patrick Peterson ain't no " pet cat " since almost the entire Cowboys fan base wants him ( including me ). Also, these are players who can help the Cowboys, not just because " I like them " because, for example, I really like Blackmon the WR fro OSU, but he won't be picked by Dallas nor should he be. So here it goes:

1) Robert Quinn, DE/OLB, North Carolina
2) Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama
3) Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama
4) Ras-I Dowling, CB, Virginia Tech
5) Owen Marecic, FB, Stanford
6) Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College
7) Kenrick Ellis, DE, Hampton *
8) Orlando Franklin, OG, Da U *
9) Jeremy Beal, LB, Oklahoma
10) Keith Williams, G, Nebraska *
11) Robert Sands, S, West Virginia
12) Jah Reid, OT, UCF *
13) Demarcus Van Dyke, CB, Da U **
14) Alex Henery, K, Nebraska
15) Colin Kaepernick, QB, Nevada **

* = Very interested in selecting any of them on Saturday
** = Undrafted free agent possibility

Not a starter just a 3rd down cover ILBer. I think that Kevin Burnett and he are comparable, Burnett would dip into 230's or so Howard is in that range.

"Pet cats" lead to disappointment and hurt feelings...

Not for me lately.. I've had three REALLY " pet cats " in the 20+ years that I've been watching the draft. One of them got drafted by the Cowboys and never really worked out long term, even though in the short begining he did have a nice little impact ( Danny Noonan, DT, Nebraska ). The other two I was really angry at the Cowboys for passing on them.. even to the point where I stopped caring who they drafted for a few years afterwards. Their names are Randy Moss and Jason Taylor.

It killed me watching JT become a HOF down here with the Dullphins. It was as if I was in some type of alternate universe or something because he was born to be a Dallas Cowboys ( in my eyes ).. Randy Moss ? well, I wasn't alone on that one, but it was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. After that disaster of a move I was really bitter towards Jerry and the organization. It sort of made me more of a realist as opposed to a dreamer when it came to the Cowboys.
