I love that we completely lucked into Dak, but he's making the staff look brilliant. There were so many other guys we tried to take before him, including freaking Connor Cook.

Sometimes the universe conspired against you and sometimes it conspires in your favor.

Man we deserve a break.

Finally it's our turn to get super lucky.

I know we lucked out with Romo but we surrounded him with garbage for a decade.. We were built much like the Packers are now.. Good WR's and QB but crap everywhere else. No nuts and bolts on the team.

Now we have a foundation. We have the nuts and bolts. We also have the Ferrari's to go with it.

Notice the woman in the Dak video wearing the Cowboys shirt? Luck my ars that is fate!!!! lol

The most telling aspect of destiny is Linehan's statement that some people belong together. It was evident despite the scouts rating other QBs tangibles higher than Dak and trying to position to draft other QBs higher was centered on desperation of getting a QBs that might be more ready now was based on potential panic on missing on their top two (which they probably though at least one would drop to them). Linehan knew exactly what he had in Dak...his response after the call looked like he just won the lottery.

I liked when he said Wilson and they knew in the room that it was the Cowboys.

IKR....when he first said coach Wilson, my first response was who's that....immediately followed by oh yeah, he's the assistant QB coach behind Coach Romo. :D

I said in another thread that this whole thing had too many coincidences happen for it not to be some kind of fate.

Eagles trading up for Wentz.

Seattle not letting us trade for Lynch.

Connor Cook being selected before our pick.

Kellen Moore getting hurt.

Dak having one of the best performances we've ever seen from a Rookie QB in the preseason.

Then Romo gets hurt.

He was meant to be here and it has not gone unnoticed with me. As much as I love Romo even he couldn't stop this mans destiny.

You have to add:

Not trading for Josh McCown because Browns wanted too much and Nick Foles signing with Chiefs instead of Cowboys.

If we only hadn't taken a RB so high this could have been a great draft

I wasn't on this board, but his junior year of college I said he was better than Russell Wilson and could carry the Cowboys to a Super Bowl even then. I also said he was a more mobile and more physical Tom Brady who would become the Michael Jordan of the NFL. Nearly everyone laughed at my "insane" comments. Im looking pretty smart now and everyone wants to talk to me about Dak.

Best player I've ever seen at any level. Fortunately, most NFL scouts don't know their head from their *** and he ended up in Dallas.

He even handled that call like a pro.

There was one member on here who was very confident he was a great pick. Can't remember his/her name.

He watched a lot of him and college and just knew.
Well done man

Well I drafted him third round in Risen's mock draft for the Rams :-0

I'm one of the guys in the tv cheering for Dak at the draft. It's cool that Dak was watching me cheering for him!!

had this conversation with my father-in-law a few months ago and funny you said "lucked"......Colts with Luck is one of them. 49ers with Montana to Young....Packers with Favre to Rodgers. I'm sure a few other soft landings I forgot but, yes, we are fortunate and great videos!
