This team hasn’t quit on the coach, period. I don’t like the guy and I think he should be finished in Dallas, but it’s interesting to watch. How they play and from body language tells me they still want to play for the guy. We might not like McCarthy and maybe Jerry is done with him, but it’s interesting to see the players not want to give up on him. If he somehow turns this ship around this season I wonder if he’s back in 2025. The players are still fighting.
The players are fighting but that doesn't make McCarthy a better coach and doesn't mean he shouldn't be fired.

At this point he won't get fired in-season, but Black Monday he needs a visit from The Turk.

The Cowboys flat quit on Wade Phillips during the Packer game in 2010, it was so obvious.

I think Jerry Jones felt that it was the lowest point in his ownership.

He was stuttering and looked to almost be in shock. He vowed to get to the bottom of the problem and solve it.

LOL, I was screaming at my TV, "You are the problem!"

That next offseason was when they announced that Jerry would be handing some of the responsibilities and decision making to Stephen and Jason Garrett but that only lasted until the team began to win again.

They will play for MM................look elsewhere on who they won't play for.
P.S. Here's a hint he makes more $ per game than anyone on the team.

They say that happiness is results divided by expectations. We've reset our expectations towards a tank-out, so seeing some wins over middling division foes now looks pretty good. But McCarthy's original expectations were to get a talented roster over the 1st round playoff hump, and he has failed at that repeatedly. His West Coast route combos are generic and predictable, and he has continually played politics with ownership and his assistants (lying about analytics, power struggle with KM, etc).

I think coaching in the NFL is pretty overrated, and talent on the field matters more. I'm going to side with Jerry's "any one of 500 coaches" spiel... it's easy to look like Phil Jackson when you have Shaq and Kobe Bryant. But I don't see how McCarthy moves the needle in any positive direction, and he's had five seasons to show me otherwise. Frankly, I don't see how he's that different than Garrett. It's time to move on.

Are they playing for him or their own pride? And don't forget how awful the competition was on Thursday.
Has nothing to do with the quality of the competition. Other teams always play against our Cowboys as if it's their Super Bowl.

Dallas had a choice to make last offseason and they drug their feet and did neither.

You had to get rid of McCarthy then or not sign Dak.

They kept McCarthy and signed Dak and the season is a huge failure.
