The last time I remember a Cowboys 1st round pick being this hyped up was Zeke, and that worked out well (for 4 years anyway). Or maybe Dez Bryant.

I'm just afraid fans are expecting just a little too much from Downs too soon. And should he get beat for a touchdown in a preseason game there will be a thirty page thread here calling him a bust.

Downs will have some growing pains like every rookie. So I’m excited for him but also know that he’s still a rookie. I think for me what’s exciting about Downs is a mindset shift from a “race car” or “nascar” defense to a hard nose defense.

We’re as strong up the middle of the defense since the early 90’s and that’s exciting. So for Downs represents a positive philosophical change on defense.

Now if the whole defense falters then you’ll be seeing me on the 30 page rants about it.

And and the way he did that made me and lots of others think he graduated from his normal drug to something harder. That was embarrassing. I've always admired his passion on the field and off, but on all fours with his butt in the air and then taking his belt off after showing his abs is not normal behavior. Needs to put the pipe down.
