LMAO!!

I would never subject the board to a war of anything but attrition, Nors.

Steady your nerves, now. You sound shriller by the minute and more like that shell shocked soldier General Patton slapped every day.

And prepare for a lesson on stealth! :lmao2:

You're not a William...you're a Willie

Not sure if that is the exact quote...but something along that line...Guess who Willie is in this thread and guess who Patton is. :lmao:

Does anyone find it strange that ANY offensive line Drew Bledsoe plays behind suddenly becomes the worst in the NFL?

No, your Bills were - 3-13 before Drew

Our Oline is 29th in NFL in rushing YPC - thats all on Drew..... Yet Drew is Tops in NFC in passer rating and completing 65% and positive TD/iNT....

I had more fun reading this thread than any person has a right to.

LTN, that was surgical.

I once heard Bill say that 'drops are part of the game.'

agreed. every skill-position player involved in our passing game had at least one drop T-Day. even witten, who i thought had a real good game, had one clang off his hands. and it goes doubly so when you have a QB that seems to have one velocity in his repetoire - "hummin', baby".

Terry Glenn does not like going over the middle - not his forte
He heard footsteps and dropped a 20 yard catch that hit him right in the hands to start game

Move on

The pass was deflected. I couldn't believe he dropped it either or that Simms was insisting that it was deflected, because it didn't look like it, even replaying it a couple of times over and over. So I paused the play and went frame by frame, and it was deflected slightly. And as fast as that ball was being zipped in there by Drew it brought it just off mark. Terry had literally a millisecond to react.

He could have caught it but I don't blame him for not catching it. It was like a bullet hitting a twig. Not going to entirely derail the projection, but alter it just enough to effect it hitting it's mark.

Props to Drew's arm strength. A majority of the QB's in the league, that pass would be fluttering up in the air after any sort of deflection like that. Possibly coming down and landing right in a DB's arms too. Or if it's not coming in so hard possibly the guy that deflected it jumps right up and grabs it out of the air for an int.

Well props to you for actually going back and watching again. See any signs of 'footstep sensitivity' on that one, CE?

And yes props to Drew's arm strength that deflected ball still carried so much zip. Even Terry seemed stunned by it.

PS The play was replayed somewhere around the halftime- the angle then showed a clear deflection. No need for freeze framing on that one.

Glenn had plenty of time to react. Hit him dead in the hands - but he was not concentrating 100% because he was acclimating himself with where the safety was.

Thats why most drops occur. Not focusing on the football first.

Glenn is having a great season -

Laugh!!!

Even caught with the fact the ball WAS deflected, you still will insist it wasn't surprise that led to the 'lapse of concentration", but cowardice.

This is your problem Nors...being 'right' is all that counts. Slandering a player is far less important than admitting you were wrong.

...didnt have positive results on the first pass of the game - big hairy deal!

What I don't like is what I see as misuse of Glenn in the game. He's a game breaker when you are ahead or even.

When the defence is still concerned about both the running and passing Glenn can be effective from all parts of the field including the middle. When you are behind that's the worst time to begin going to Glenn because the DCs are going to be extra careful here.

The best time is when Dallas is ahead and the running game is humming. Terry should be able to pad the stats and help the rushing.

Why line the guy up if the QB can't find him. He's been far too open too many times and Drew has outright overlooked him or was unable to deal with the pressure and find him.

Glenn hasn't been a problem and if I were Payton he would be fun to line up in the backfield for a few passes and screens.

Glenn - we shoould be using his separation skills downfield more.

He's having a very good season. But those silly 3rd and short plays are not working.

No I didnt' go back and watch it. I'm talking about right when it happen I fussed around with the DVR. Also, no, didn't notice any signs of "footstep sensitivity". Of course I wasn't looking for that after seeing the deflection clearly.

I missed them going back to that play around halftime. Gotta be all Simms on that one; the guy loves to go to bat for his old HC, even if that means defending a player, or even a team he used to once hate. Lol. I almost wish he'd do more Cowboy games now.

This I completely agree with you on. The last 2 games I don't recall even one shot down the field, successful or not. A good way to calm a blitz is to loft one over their heads from time to time. With a threat like Glenn speeding down the field they can't ignore that. Even some short 20 yard flies would be something if it's time in the pocket we're concerned with. Terry can make the separation and Drew can make the throws.

Well thank you, LaTunaNostra. That means alot coming from a staple of the community such as yourself, and 10k+ poster. :) Your posts have been some of the very first to stick out to me and truly enjoy reading what you have to say on all subjects here.

This seems like a really great place, too, and I imagine me being around here for a very long time. Afterall these are my Cowboys and I do bleed Silver, do need some place to gush (and cry) over them. (lol) :D

Thanks for the warm welcome and helping me get my feet wet in these opening threads. I'm sure we'll see the other around alot.
