Linehan was not brought in to be a puppet to Garrett, we are running the ball not because of Garrett, we are doing it because someone ELSE was hired to do that. ANd its been paying off, not Garretts been paying off. (might have been paid off)

Lets give Linehan credit for doing what many have been screaming RUN MURRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you still don't get it

Let's give Jerry credit for sticking with JG when the world was making jokes when he said he believes in him
Let's give credit to Linehan for having the offense click so well like that
Let's give credit to RM for having this D play like a Dooms Day Defense
Let's give credit to Garret because it is the HC that establishes a "culture" within which the team plays, the scouts scout, and the couches coach. He brought the RKG culture and got rid of cancers/losers/stupids (BTW he is not done)
Let's give credit to players for putting it all on the field and executing

Every one in the organization chipped in and there is enough credit for all….why can't we "ALL" be friends?

How 'bout we give credit to the whole offensive staff and just call it a day?

Glad to see JG getting love. After the utter disaster Wade left this team in he needed a few years just to get the stink off.

Yes I will agree to a point but linehan has also been proven to be just as pass happy if not more than Garrett, many of the prognosticators even brought that up when he was hired. Do not get me wrong he has done a phenomenal job with this offense but many here even were worried about the mix. I am actually surprised by the ratio, I thought we would run more but no where near the level we are running which is 55-60% of the time.

'Process' is tracking well so far this season - but I'm sure Garrett would remind us that it is still only early October.

You do realize that Linehan has always been pass happy before this year right?

It's funny watching people make up stories to fit their bias when all you know of who does what is superficial. The continued handwaving at playcalling is amusing as well. Garrett participates in offensive and defensive playcalling, gameplanning, and execution to some extent. To what extent we don't know but denying all credit for either side of the ball to Garrett is, frankly, stupid. The desperate crusade to mitigate is worthy of contempt following the biggest win thisteam has had in years.

I will be enjoying the gnashing of teeth when he gets his extension which at this point is a lock. Jones described the team's performance as a "Jason Garrett win" after all.

I remember taking before the season about how i thought Linehan is pass happy to the point where i felt the best chance to get a running game was Garrett truly embracing the game manager role and insisting on it now that he wasn't always into the playsheet. I'm not going to insert that for reality but it is much more probable than the no credit to Garrett bias.

Garrett is a frustrating figure. I think his message as a head coach is good. He is/was an awful offensive coordinator. He might not even be a bad talent evaluator. He's an absolutely abhorrent gameday coach, like Andy Reid bad. We might have solved the awful offensive coordinator portion of Garrett, but what do we do about him as a gameday decision maker? I really don't think he's going to get any better than he is. He's 4 seasons into this gig now and still making mistakes 12 year olds in Madden wouldn't make.

I agree with you that his message as a head coach is good, anyway.

I think its fair to say its starting to bear fruit. Take Johnny football, no give me another big guy to manage the trenches. That's the that sort of mentality I want to see going forward. Ignore the hype.
