I remember a few years ago when Romo had the "moxy". When Dallas got punked by the Giants that year after going 13-3, the one thing the Cowboys had was an offensive line that could pass protect. Although it was an aging line, it was stout enough against the pass to let Tony go downfield. I thought it was his best year by far.

I got real excited watching the Denver game. Waters routinely locked on his man and took him out of the play without help. The rookie center is looking good, Free is a new man. Heck, they should give him back some of his money. Tyronasaurus is getting better an better. They really showed something sunday as a unit. It enabled Romo to go downfield again. It's been missing from his game for too long. They're empty backfield set was unstoppable. I bet Myles is looking to get back on the field pretty quick.

Can't wait for Romo to get back to his true identity again sunday. ~swing away Merrill, swing away.

Good post. Yes it's a nice and surprising development. I don't think anyone saw Free doing so well.

Yeah, what happened to Romo the first 4 games? The protection has been spectacular in all 5 games, but Romo lit up Denver because they had a pathetic defense.. not just because he had time to throw.

Ed Werder reported that the reason why you saw Romo the way he did this past Sunday was because he was fully healed from his injury.

If you watch the game, it kinda makes sense just based on how well Romo was moving in the pocket. When he was ducking/weaving in the Chiefs game, he looked extremely slow. The Romo I saw this past Sunday was very quick and elusive; looked like the Romo of old.

I really liked what I saw...

the o- line is very much improved..

we have a very good center for the next decade

waters is a beast

smith and free are playing very well..

leary is playing ok.

tony needs to just throw the ball away if nobody is open though or run for it on certain plays.

one of the bright spots from the denver game i can only hope for is just how many points we can score by throwing to all of our weapons like beasley, harris, williams, hanna, etc..etc..

we need to get a better running back with vision though...time for randle to get a shot.

I hope even you saw the difference in the game-plan last Sunday. It was not the norm, they actually used the seams, middle and threw long. The first four games was dink and dunk and probably not by Romo's choice.

Simple math, pathetic defense + protection = time to throw

I think Garrett realizes that if he wants to keep his job, he'd be better served letting Tony be Tony and not making him into Alex Smith. I hope it continues but I worry about the Skins blitzing. I think you'll see more dink and dunk this week due to their blitzing.

not having von miller and champ bailey out there helped.

Well Miller and Bailey haven't been playing all year long and the most points they allowed before last Sunday was 27 by the ravens.

27 Ravens
23 Giants
21 Raiders
20 Eagles
48 Cowboys

Thats true and thankfully I cant refute that, but i should have explained further. I think the Dallas offense and defense only come alive one at a time. This happened to be the time the offense came alive and did well, and i credit Tony for that, have been a big supporter of his, but I dont credit the protection as much, because i dont know who on the line would have kept Von Miller off Romo, and I am thinking there is at least two sacks right there.

He has had time to throw in all of the games. The Oline has been playing outstanding.

Guess there was no way that Romo was injured and the gameplan was to minimize his risk in the pocket so they went to a short passing game. Besides, Romo has been great all year. Now that he is finally healthy, you will start to see the more down the field passing attack. Anyone that complains about the way Romo has played this year either has an agenda of their own, or don't know squat about Football. There is no way that anyone with an open mind and can watch Romo play so far this year and not see how good he has been.

This is weird. This is the first game that I am not worried at all about the O-line or offense..

Now, the defense? Uh, oh lord.

Smith has been playing great, he's just so strong now. It's great to see how he's progressed.

We manged to replace the entire interior line in one offseason with Leary-Frederick-Waters. I can't wait to see how we match up vs Washinton this Sunday night.
