Do we Tear it down and rebuild - or do we sweep the staff out and tweak ? Upgrade in 2-3 areas?

Jerry can't answer this question either; only a real NFL man can.

Many top Businesses bring on outside consulting firms to analyze them and give them an honest evaluation.

That's just what we need.

I don't think it is a complete rebuild.

The Coaches all need to go. Every one of them, save Sherman.

The list I just posted of players that absolutely have to go is another good start. There may be a few more who need to be replaced but a churning of the roster and a new coaching staff that is competent would work wonders.

I'm wondering about scrapping the 3-4 as well. We should dedicate a thread to the pros and cons of scrapping it.

The answer is better drafting.... the 09 draft is killing us right now. Nobody on this team fears for their jobs. If a players in dallas has a few good years in dallas jerry gives them a new contract. New Englad pays certain guys. They always have draft picks and middle of the road free agents pushing the starts. Other than Tom brady nobody on that roster is ever comfortable. The pats model is the way to go. There window never closes.

When Brady leaves theyre done.

I don't think the team needs to be started from scratch. We have some holes that obviously need to be filled - especially in the O-Line and both safety positions for a start. I think the game today reiterated our shortcomings in those areas. We could not gain a yard when the game was starting to slip away. Their stop on the one yard line deflated the team and sent them into an unrecoverable tailspin.

Be aggressive in Free agency (Mankins) and draft some young o-lineman that may be able to continue to progress and contribute to the team.

In addition, let AOA, Lee and some of the yound O and D lineman get on the field in the line of fire and see if they can cut it.

They won 11 games with Cassell. Brady has 4-5 good years left. Im sure belichick will have somebody ready by then.
