I admit I didn't see that one (which is why I tried to cover my *** by saying "every pregame speech I saw"--actually wrote "say", but that was a typo)

From the posts I've read of yours, I take you to be pretty pragmatic, so I'll take your word for it.

Anyone else real tired of the "family" theme?

I'm going to be honest. Before the Eagles game, when they were showing Dawkins getting his team ready and James getting his team ready, I was downright embarrassed.

I'm pretty sure James said something to the effect of "no matter what happens we're a family. Family on three!"

Then I see Dawkins going absolutely crazy.

It did not instill confidence in me, that's for sure. Every time I hear a player or Phillips say the word family in reference to the team, I cringe. The family stuff is garbage and needs to go, in my opinion.

Anyone else think the whole "family" theme needs to be scrapped? I don't see what the hell it does for the team, other than perhaps making them think everyone will still love each other regardless of who costs the team the game and no matter who tries their hardest.

Yea, this whole family theme needs to be scraped for 09 as one of the changes "new Wade" makes.

Wade needs to tell the players that this is not a family, this is not a social club, and this is not high school or college.

This is your employment and if you dont take it seriously, you will be fired!!!

You are being paid millions of dollars to produce on the field and if you cant handle it or perform your job to acceptable standards, then you will be terminated and a replacement found.

Simply as that.
