Is that you Stephen? I really don't think you should've called your Hall of Fame QB an "Armchair quarterback."

And mate, it's not one game. It's many, many years of mediocrity. People are fed up seeing the same thing over and over and over and over again. Criticising fans for their disappointment in the managing of a team some of us first began following as children in the days of Don Meredith and Tom Landry isn't a good look. If we didn't care, we wouldn't be here as others have pointed out.

Cheers.

Danny White and TD33 were the guys when I became a fan along with the Manster...

It's really interesting to see all the couch potatoes talking about benching the QB, firing the HC, firing the OC, trading Zeke, benching Lee just look at the thread titles. All after only one game. :lmao::lmao2::facepalm::muttley:

The fact that the Cowboys have such an illustrious, although certainly not recently, history of success in the NFL has attracted a certain kind of fan. This fan expects greatness every season, every game and every play. And when that invariably doesn’t happen they complain to such an extent that instead of being fans of the Cowboys, they become to hate everything about them.

These same fans have already quit this season, after 1 game. Don’t get me wrong, the team laid a big fact egg last Sunday. No part of the offense passed any kind of eye test. The play calling. The QB. The WR’s and most discouraging the OL. Special teams were not close to being special. Part of that is most assuredly because of the lack of playing time in preseason for the offense and special teams. More defensive players played and it showed as they gave a solid effort against a very dynamic QB. But part of it has nothing to do with not playing in the preseason.

The frankly disgusting thing about this first game is all the quitters here who again have thrown in the towel and quit. After 1 game. THese same posters have been posting all offseason about how much the Cowboys suck. They’ve been salivating for this first game disasater and on queue have been gloating ever since. I just don’t get it.

I think the "history of success" is from days so far gone, only old farts like me can remember them....vaguely.

Theres some disappointed fans, but if you look at the season record predictions before the Carolina game, its ckear that a huge number of fans had low expectations this season going in.

Thats not jumping ship, thats just honestly saying how they think things will go.

It’s not one game. It’s 20+ years and they are sitting on unused resources and basically did nothing to improve the team except attend the draft and take their picks. This rat feels like I’ve been more than patient. The Jones’ have proved to me that winning is no longer the #1 priority in Dallas any longer, if it ever was. I simply don’t feel like being played for a fool any longer. I watch other teams with envy and watch the Cowboys with apathy. I canceled Sunday Ticket so for the first time since I discovered sports bars when I was 21, I will miss games this year. I will watch when they are on national tv out of habit but even that is fading. The Cowboys and the NFL are losing this life long football fan.

I just want all the cowboys players to be bullied and held accountable like they were under Parcells.

When you’re negative about everything that’s how it comes across to everyone. It’s an attitude. It’s character. It’s evident in all aspects of ones life if they are like that. Being a Cowboys fan is just another avenue to display the “I give up at the first round coming from down range”. You quit on the Cowboys after 1 game, you will quit in other areas of your life.

No hardcore fan is quitting on the team. But as a fan since the 60's, I am disgusted with the coaching and the FO. Twenty plus years of nothing kinda pisses me off a little bit.

This team has nothing in common with the Campo teams. They shouldn't even be compared.

About all that is relevant is what Garrett has done and he has experienced some good years. They didn't happen by accident.

The last 4 years of Garrett's tenure are the most relevant indicator of future results. His first teams were inherited and we had bad players, an unhealthy salary cap and aging roster.

Now we are one of the youngest teams in the league, young stars, an improved defense and more stability.

We are drafting well for the most part. We are doing very well at finding players like Woods at DT that can play well cheaply.

I'm not sure why some posters on this board hate the Clapping Carrot so badly. He is turning this team in the right direction.

Dak must play well (at least well enough) in order for it to be a successful year. Hopefully that will happen. But regardless, the team is headed in the right direction.

Cutting Garrett because Dak turns out to not be a franchise QB would be like refusing to draft Randy Moss because of Irvin and company.

I feel you on that bro. It's sad really. Zero intestinal fortitude.
